Ark Survival Evolved is a game that focuses on surviving on an island called ARK. As the player, you are challenged to survive against the harsh environment and hostile creatures. This guide will show you how you can start in the Ark Survival Evolved.
New Players Guide – Ark Survival Evolved
The first thing you are going to notice when you enter the world of ARK is that there are dinosaurs and other creatures roaming around. You can tame or hunt these creatures for their loot. Another thing about ARK is that there is no real objective, you simply survive, create your own base, or tame creatures.
So when it comes to learning the game, do not rush yourself and try to learn things as you go. When you first start the game, you can create the character however you want, and you will spawn on a beach.
On the bottom-right, you will see the icon for your stats. The arrowhead is your EXP meter, underneath is the weight you are carrying, and the last four are Water, Hunger, Stamina, and health levels. You will also find the buffs and debuffs here.
Press H on your PC or touchpad button on Xbox to learn more about the stats. The radio wheel menu can also help in toggling controls like going into the third person. You can also chat with other players by pressing enter or pressing touchpad and L1.
You can put any items or tools in your Hotbar to use them. Press B on Xbox or I buttons on your PC to bring up your inventory where you can find your items as well as the tools you have equipped. If you leveled up and have skill points to spend, you can increase your skills here as well.
When you level up, you will also get engram points. You can access this menu when you increase your stats in your inventory. This will unlock new recipes for items. If you want to unlock new recipes and items, be sure to increase your level.
For Water, simply walk to the ocean or any body of water and drink it. You can also simply go to a bush and pick some berries to replenish your hunger. The food will be in your inventory. You can pick up small stones in the area and punch trees to get thatches and wood.
Go to the Crafting menu and use these resources to build items to help you survive. When you die in the game, your loot will be left where you died for 30 minutes. So before it disappears simply go back and loot it back.
Once you have the basics down, you can now select whether you want to fight against other players and survive or simply survive with other players. To go into a server, simply press Join Ark in the main menu and take a look at the list of servers available.
You can also use the name filter search if you have a specific server in mind.
