No Rest for the Wicked is a new ARPG that has a ton of grinding involved, which also includes having to backtrack and basically just run around all over the map to complete various tasks. In this guide, we will be showing you how to unlock and use the fast travel system in the game to make your life a little bit easier!
How to Unlock Fast Travel
Simply put, the fast travel system in the game revolves around using the Whispers that are scattered all throughout the world.
These are blue rifts of energy that are marked on the map whenever you discover them. Channeling at one of these will also set your respawn point to that particular Whisper.
While they can be used to fast travel to one another, there is a catch that you have to keep in mind first. You see, unlike in other games in the genre, these do not act like your typical ARPG waypoints.
Instead, you can only fast travel back and forth between the previous respawn point you set and the one inside the main hub area. At this point of the early access period, this hub area is only going to be the city of Sacrament.
To unlock this system, you simply have to progress far enough into the story until you make it to Sacrament. It isn’t a particularly long process, as it is basically where you go immediately after the first few couple of sections.
How to Use the Fast Travel System
Once you have made your way to Sacrament and gotten to the Whisper there, you now unlock the option to Fast Travel when interacting with it.
Although all of the Whispers that you have discovered are marked on your map, you can only teleport to the last Whisper that you channeled before this, and vice versa.
Player feedback is currently mixed when it comes to whether or not this is a good thing, so it remains to be seen whether the developers will expand on this system later on while it’s still in early access.
One common suggestion right now is to give players the ability to at least hop around between the different Whispers that they have already unlocked.
For now, though, you will just have to deal with the fact that you cannot fast travel freely from any place to any whisper in the map without going to the city. Expect the system to remain pretty restrictive once the game launches, as it is marketed to be a brutal experience after all.
With all of that said, that is everything that you need to know about the fast travel system in the current version of this early access title. While you are here, check out our guide on the best way to farm experience and loot in No Rest for the Wicked as well!
