WB Montreal has done an incredible job doing their marketing for Gotham Knights. Just a week ago, we got a gameplay and cinematic trailer that showcased a glimpse of the story we will unravel when we play the game when it released this Friday.
However, all good things must come to an end eventually. Recently, WB Games Montreal confirmed that Gotham Knights will not be running at 60 FPS on current-gen consoles. Instead, they will be running at 30 FPS due to the visual fidelity and the features that limit the game from running at 60 FPS.
This did not go well with the fans.
Gotham Knights Hype – Does It Exist?
Yes, Gotham Knights fans are not happy about the decision to make the game run only 30 FPS. The reason why fans are not happy is because they feel that with the new generation coming in, 30 FPS should not be the standard anymore as developers are working with much more powerful hardware compared to previous generations.
Yes, they are very mad. But does that mean the hype for the game is gone?
A YouTuber by the name of Sadot The Gamer recently put up a poll on his YouTube, asking if the game being 30 FPS only affected their buying decision. With 3k votes, majority of them answered “Don’t Care”. The second highest vote goes to “Yes, no longer buying” and the last vote being “Still buying but only on sale”.
Even their official Twitter account is still amassing a large support from players. That’s based on the interaction on their latest tweet.
Yes, the hype for Gotham Knights has been affected. It is no longer as large as it was where to the point that people are getting refunds. But, that does not mean the hype for the game is gone. I myself am still hyped, because I am a PC gamer. And I can just tweak my graphics settings to achieve 60 FPS and more.
Still, WB Games Montreal needs to work on getting 60 FPS in Gotham Knights, as people will actually buy the game if they do. It may not seem like a big deal for you and some other people who are still buying the game, but it is to others. Gotham Knights comes out on October 21, this Friday.
