Atomfall is an immersive survival game that rewards exploration, precision, and smart gameplay choices. Whether you’re playing on console, PC, or the Steam Deck, having the right settings can make a huge difference in your overall experience. If you’re looking to improve your aim, navigate the world more easily, and maximize performance, these settings are a must. Here are the best controller and gameplay settings to get the most out of Atomfall.

Best Controller & Gameplay Settings

1. Autosave Frequency

Set your autosave frequency to 2 minutes or less. This allows you to play more aggressively without the fear of losing too much progress. Made a mistake? No problem—just reload and try again.

2. Sensitivity & Aim Assist

  • Look Sensitivity: 55%
  • Aim Sensitivity: 25%
  • Aim Assist: Strong
  • Snap Aim: On

These settings give you the best balance between quick reactions and precise aiming, making gunfights smoother and more manageable.

3. Traversal Assistance

Turn on Show Traversal Indicators in the accessibility tab. This ensures you don’t miss hidden areas, which often contain high-tier loot.

4. Visual Clarity

  • Camera Shake: Off
  • Motion Blur: Off

Motion blur and camera shake can be disorienting and even cause headaches. Turning them off enhances clarity, making movement and combat much easier on the eyes.

5. Interaction Assistance

Enable Interaction Cues to ensure you don’t accidentally overlook important items. This will make looting faster and more efficient.

Best PC Settings

If you’re gaming on a PC, Atomfall delivers great performance even on high settings. Here’s what I recommend for the best balance between visuals and performance:

  • Anti-Aliasing: Ultra
  • Shadow Detail: Ultra
  • Reflection Detail: Ultra
  • Draw Distance: Ultra
  • Texture Detail: Ultra
  • Water Detail: Ultra
  • Ambient Occlusion: On
  • Screen Space Shadows: On
  • Motion Blur: Off
  • Tessellation: On
  • Obscurance Fields: On

On an RTX 4070, these settings delivered 126 FPS (1% low: 95 FPS). Lowering them to low settings boosted FPS to 185 (1% low: 115 FPS), but the visual downgrade wasn’t worth it. Since Atomfall is a single-player game, aiming for a steady 60 FPS or higher with better visuals is the way to go.

Wrap-Up

With the right settings, Atomfall becomes a much smoother and more enjoyable experience. Whether you’re on a console, PC, or Steam Deck, optimizing your controls and graphics can greatly enhance your gameplay. Try these settings and see the difference for yourself!
