Whether you’re slicing through elite dungeons or just out picking mushrooms in the wild, one thing’s for sure, energy and stamina are your lifelines in Crystal of Atlan. You could have the sharpest gear, the flashiest skills, or a team of absolute units… but if you’re out of energy or stamina? You’re not going anywhere. I learned that the hard way after trying to spam dungeons with zero energy (spoiler: didn’t work). So, I’m going to break down everything you need to know about how these two core systems work, clearly, and with a few of my own tips from the grind.

How Energy and Stamina Works

What is Energy?

Energy (green energy) is your gateway to almost everything in Crystal of Atlan. Without it? No elite dungeons, no abyss farming, no loot. Think of Energy as your action points. Every character has their own daily pool, 120 Energy by default, or 140 if you’ve got the Phantasium Pass, and they refill every 24 hours.

You’ll find your Energy right next to your portrait in-game. Tap on it for a full breakdown, especially when you’re wondering why you suddenly can’t enter a dungeon. If you’re looking for a guide on the orange energy (Level 60 Account Energy), we’ll make a separate guide for that.

Now here’s something a lot of players miss: energy is not shared across characters. Each one has their own daily supply, and that’s a huge deal. Why?

Per-Character Energy = Unlimited Grinding (Sorta)

Here’s the secret sauce: you can create up to six characters for free. That means if your main is out of energy, just hop onto an alt and keep going. Each character has its own energy pool, and this daily reset lets you stretch your playtime without spending a dime.

Personally, I cycle between 3–4 characters a day and never run out. If you’re trying to go hardcore, rotating through all six characters is basically infinite dungeon time. Energy resets at the same time every day, across all characters. Maximize it!

What Activities Use Energy?

Here’s what burns through your energy the most:

  • Elite Dungeons – 10 Energy
  • Story Dungeons – 5 Energy
  • Abyss Runs (Hunter License) – 5 Energy

No energy = no entry. Always check your total before diving in, especially if you’re planning a long session.

Reserve Energy = Free Bonus Loot

Starting at level 15, any unused daily energy starts turning into reserve energy, which adds bonus rewards to your next runs.

  • Before Level 60: 50% of leftover energy converts, up to 70 max
  • After Level 60: 100% conversion, up to 140 max

Left 20 energy unused yesterday? You’ve got 20 reserve energy today with bonus loot potential. Use it wisely.

What is Stamina?

Stamina is the unsung hero of progression. You can find it on your Profile > Character Info, right below your energy. While energy is for dungeons and loot, stamina fuels your gathering and crafting efforts, mining ore, picking herbs, hunting mushrooms… all of it drains from your 1,000 daily stamina.

Each gather costs 10 stamina, and once it’s gone? You’re done for the day.

What you get from it:

  • Crafting mats for gear upgrades
  • Ingredients for cooking and buffs
  • Resources to sell for gold (Super helpful if you’re low on cash)
  • Donations and more

And no, random gathering isn’t worth it. And yeah, I’ve absolutely wasted stamina before picking useless mushrooms. Don’t be me. Target the stuff you actually need.

If you ignore your stamina, you’re leaving valuable materials (and gold!) on the table every single day. Even if you’re not crafting, gathering daily gives you a ton of resources to sell, store, or trade later on. Use it. Every day.

Quick Recap on Energy & Stamina

  • Energy = fuels your dungeons and progress. Restores daily. Use different characters to keep going.
  • Stamina = for gathering and crafting materials. Also resets daily. Be mindful of what you collect!
  • Reserve Energy = extra goodies if you leave some energy unused (especially important after level 60).
  • You get up to 6 characters — so if you run out of energy on one, switch to another and keep having fun.

Managing these two systems well = more loot, faster leveling, and smarter grinding. And who doesn’t want that? You’ve got six characters for a reason, rotate them. And that stamina? Spend it like gold, because it basically is.

Wrap-Up

Trust me, Crystal of Atlan becomes a totally different experience once you start treating Energy and Stamina like the valuable resources they are, not just some annoying limits. At first, I used to log in, burn all my energy on my main, and log off wondering why I wasn’t progressing. But once I figured out the rhythm, rotating characters, managing reserve energy, using stamina every day, things just clicked. I was getting more gear, crafting better items, and finally making consistent gold.

At the end of the day, Crystal of Atlan rewards players who know how to stretch their resources. If you’re curious about what comes after the grind, I highly recommend checking out my guide on the HexChess Raid. It covers everything you need to know about the Level 60 Raid, honestly one of the most unique and creative raid mechanics I’ve seen in any anime-style MMO. If you thought Crystal of Atlan was cool already, wait ’til you see this.
