Fospoken is an upcoming game that is being produced by Square Enix that is highly popular even before its release date. From the trailers that we’ve seen so far, as well as the short gameplay presentations it looks like a very fun game indeed. In this article, we will be talking about it and show you everything that we know about it so far. Let’s get started.

Everything We Know – Forspoken

  • Release Date – January 24 of 2023
  • Available On – Playstation 5, Microsoft PC

The story of the game is fairly unusual than your typical premise of a game. Basically, you will be playing as Frey Holland who is a New Yorker but by a certain series of twisted events you will get teleported into a fantasy world of very beautiful landscapes and huge monsters, as well as having a set of skills and spells that will help you travel across it.

The world called Athia has a background and lore that you will go through with the weird-looking bracer that will show up on Frey’s hand. You will learn that a corrupting force called Bleak has transformed this land and corrupted the minds of its people. It will be up to you to cleanse this corruption and fix the path of savagery that has started here.

Exploration

The visuals and the environment of the game are stunning. There will be lots of places to travel around with the openworld traveling mechanics. There are places of interest on which you can climb up to widen and explore the map.

Lots of caves and dark dungeons, beautiful grotesque-looking buildings and castles, mountain high peaks, and much more things. The exploration elements are accompanied by Frey’s ability to parkour and actually use her skills to move around freely and much more easily. There will be all sorts of biomes that you can think of making the exploration a very fun element indeed. There are also towns in which you can jump around just like in Assassin’s Creed!

Combat & Magic

Magic plays a very big part in Forspoken and that means that the combat will be accompanied with it by a bunch. You’ll get random elemental types of spells that you can use either in the short-range or something a long-range electricity strike can work just as fine as well.

The parkour and mobility element of any type of combat is huge in Forspoken. You will be able to jump around and even head-kick your enemies if you wish to. The bosses you’ll encounter will be big meaning that AoE and environmental attacks will be a thing requiring you to constantly be on the move and jump around.

You’ll need to mix up the elements because there will be a variety of enemies to defeat each with a different set of weaknesses. You will also be able to use your magic and spells while exploring the world like giving you faster movement, jumping around, and teleporting!

There will be 4 types of Magic:

  • Purple – earth-like spells
  • Red – fire
  • Blue – water (speculation – not confirmed yet)
  • Green – air (speculation – not confirmed yet)

There are both offensive and defensive types of spells like water tornadoes, long-range magical arrow strikes for sniping, and so on. You will be able to scan enemies before fighting to learn more about them.

Activities

Having a large world to play around with means that there will be certain types of activities that you can do. The world will be large and many types of sidequests will be available. Lots of markets and vendors to be buying stuff and upgrading your gear as well as a game of dice.

Monuments thrown around the world shall be possible to explore as well as collectibles that are hidden and found for certain elements to be unlocked, maybe cosmetics or some minor upgrades and rewards. There are also some flashback elements in the world that will provide some lore and details about the backstory of the game.

There are dungeons as well that function like locked hybrid labyrinths with very dangerous beasts lurking in the areas. Being very dangerous, but also very rewarding makes them very fun to check out.

There is a crafting system as well as some photo and magical challenges to be done in order to increase your overall stats.

That is all that you need to know about Forspoken so far. We hope that this article has given you the overview of the game that you needed. The game will be coming out in a bit so stay tuned for our many guides that will help you out while playing it.
