How to Beat the Secret Source Automaton Overseer Device
Sweeper Mode
Once you encounter the boss, you’ll need to be ready for its most dangerous phase: Sweeper Mode. During this state, the Overseer Device performs rapid spinning attacks while emitting lasers, making the fight chaotic and potentially overwhelming.
While in Sweeper Mode, the boss gains Flow Momentum, a gauge that increases its attack speed and damage output the longer it spins.
The easiest way to beat this boss is to deal Cryo attacks during this phase. Cryo abilities will deplete the Flow Momentum gauge, eventually halting the spin and reducing the boss’s aggression. Just make sure you get the timing and launch Cryo bursts or reactions right as Sweeper Mode begins to prevent it from escalating.
Water Bomb and Whirlpool
The Overseer boss will also deal certain Hydro attacks that either pull the player towards the center or throw Water Bomb projectiles. Observe the timing of these attacks and try to dodge as much as you can.
Charged Attack
As the name implies, the boss will do a simple Charged Attack that triggers when the player is at a certain distance. You don’t have to overthink when encountering this move; just dodge as you see the animation coming.
