Bosses and even normal enemies in Elden Ring can be challenging especially in the early levels. This is where crafting comes in. Crafting appropriate items can help you get out of a bind. This guide will show you how you can craft in Elden Ring.

How to Craft – Elden Ring

Before you can craft, you will need to get a Crafting Kit. After you get a Crafting Kit, you can craft items if you learned their recipe.

The first thing you want to do is go to the Church of Elleh in the Limgrave area shown in the photo below.

You will see an NPC here called Merchant Kale. He will be sitting next to the campfire, near the Smithing Table. You can do this very early on in the game.

Talk to him and select Purchase to browse his wares. The Crafting Kit costs 300 Runes so be sure to prepare that beforehand.

Once you purchase the Crafting Kit, go to the menu and select Item Crafting.

You will find the list of items you can craft and the ingredients you need to craft it. At first, you will only know a handful of items to craft. However, buying cookbooks allows you to craft more items in the future.

Merchant Kale also sells cookbooks so be sure to check on him once in a while.
