Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is a completely different type of Pokemon game compared to all its predecessor versions. Aside from the fact that it has now joined the bandwagon of having an open world, this game version also allows the players to choose which game version they want to play in – Scarlet or Violet.
What made these two completely different is the style of each of the worlds. Pokemon Scarlet embodies the past, while Pokemon Violet reflects the future. This difference can be clearly seen once you take a look at both of their Legendary Pokemon MIraidon and Koraidon.
Aside from that, Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet both have their own exclusive Pokemon and Paradoxes. This means that some Pokemon can be seen in Pokemon Violet but not in Pokemon Violet, and vice versa.
The only thing for you to have a Pokemon exclusive to the opposite Pokemon version you are playing is by joining a team and playing multiplayer. If both of you are from opposite versions, one of you will be brought to the world of the host.
But there’s also another thing you can do to have the exclusive Pokemon of the opposite Pokemon version. That’s what we are about to find out.

Trading Pokemon has been a thing since the beginning of the game versions. This is done in order to help each other complete the Pokedex.
However, the question is: can you trade Pokemon from Scarlet to Violet, and vice versa? The answer is yes!
The first thing you have to do is make sure that you can access the Poke Portal from the Main Menu as this is where the trading will take place.
Now, if you already have access to the Poke Portal and you want to trade Pokemon with someone from the other version locally, all you need to do is go to Poke Portal > Link Trade > Set Link Code > Begin Searching.
It is important that you both have provided the correct link code in order to do this successfully.
Once the trading partner was reached, you will be directed to the list of all the Pokemon you caught. This is where you can choose which Pokemon to give out to your friend.
This method can be done both offline and online mode.
