After a long hiatus, Lethal Company finally has a new update in the form of the v70 update. Known as The Incubating Update, players will now be able to access a whole range of content, which includes new Monsters, new loot, map changes and other minor reworks. This update is the first of a series of updates promised by the developer to take the game out of early access. To help you navigate all the patch notes, we have prepared a guide that will go over the most important changes added as part of the v70 update. With that said, let’s get into the guide!

v70 Update Guide

The Incubating Update (v70) for Lethal Company is the first of a series of update making its way to the game. New rooms, new creates and more will be coming to the game with later update. It looks the developers are finally ready to take the game out of Early Access.

So, let’s see what we have in store for us with the new update.

New Creature (Giant Sapsucker)

Starting off, we have a new outdoor creature added to Lethal Company in the form of the Giant Sapsucker. You’ll find this enemy most commonly on Vow.

This is a Giant Bird that will move around outdoors and protect its nest of eggs. Here are the most common behaviors you’ll see from the creature in its passive state:

  • Linger and move around the nest
  • Lay in the nest
  • Peck trees in the area to get sap.

When you get too close to the nest, the Giant Sapsucker will go into an guarded state where it will try to block you off. If you get to close to it or the nest in this state, it will enter its aggravated state.

In the aggravated state, the Giant Sapsucker will start attacking everything until it calms down and returns to the nest.

If you steal the Giant Sapsucker’s eggs, it will eventually hatch. The Giant Sapsucker will know your location and lock onto you. During this rampage, it will can even open the doors of a locked ship. It can even go in a berserk state and start attacking anything nearby.

The longer the Giant Sapsucker remains in the attack phase, the more its speed and attack speed will increase. If you do manage to somehow survive, the Giant Sapsucker will remember you if spotted again.

When being chased by a Giant Sapsucker after stealing an egg, you can survive by dropping the egg. The Giant Sapsucker will always prioritize getting its egg over attacking you.

The Giant Sapsucker egg is worth taking as loot since it is incredibly valuable. Taking it to the Company Building can fetch you a good price. However, remember that it comes with a great risk.

New Mansion Tiles

There are about 9 new mansion tiles that were introduced to the Mansion in Lethal Company. Additionally, these new tiles have lots of interactable objects inside which you can find scrap.

This includes cabinets and drawers that can spawn in hallways that you can open and find loot inside.

These tiles also introduced a new map generation mechanic to the game where they will only generate at dead ends. As a result, you have a mix of old and new rooms in the Mansion.

The purpose of this mechanic is to make the Mansion more interesting to explore. By having new tiles, the map will have more potential to loop onto itself creating many different non-linear paths that players can utilize.

Compass And Radar Rework

We have a new compass feature added as part of the new update. It appears at the bottom of every player’s HUD and the terminal. Using the scanner makes it much more visible.

This makes navigation much easier, especially for the computer guy who gives direction from the terminal.

Additionally, the radar has a reworked look which makes things on the map more visible. There is even a blue line that shows the path from the current player to the exit – indicating the fastest exit route.

On top of that, there is also a face cam for each player allowing the computer guy to look at things behind the player.

  • Fridge
  • Electric Chair
  • Microwave
  • Dog House
  • Sofa Chair.

You can even sit on some of these items or use them to store scrap inside of them!
