Lost Ark is offering tons of different bosses with very interesting mechanics to fight against. In this guide, we will be taking a look at how to defeat Vykas in Gate 1. He is very tricky so make sure to pay extra attention to detail.

Vykas Gate 1 Mechanic Guide – Lost Ark

Soon after the battle has started and you and your team have dealt more than enough damage, the boss will split up into two parts. These parts are going to be separated and you’ll need to deal with them both, but your team will be separated too in this regard.

So you’ll actually have 2 bosses to fight against now. That will be the blue boss which is known as Human. Or the other boss which is purple and known as Lust

The gimmick here is that for the party that is fighting the purple boss is that you want to be inside the indicator while fighting him. For example, the purple incoming attacks and the cone that will show up but disappear very quickly is something that you’ll need to be aware of.

At around 50% HP bar the Human boss will teleport to the middle and the first major mechanics will begin in this fight. You will need to stand in the middle in the white circles or you’ll be killed instantly.  Then after this you’ll need to go to the corners where you’ll see a couple of random colorful circles.

Next to them you’ll see a ball and gate that will spawn. This is the Orb Gate. This black ball will follow you and your teammates around the area. The goal and the key here, is to time the colors of the ball. When the ball is the same color as the gate, pull it to the gate and make it enter. The colors can be red, blue, green, white, or black. Whatever you do, do not touch the ball!

The next big thing that will happen is at 35% HP again on the Human Boss. The boss will teleport to the middle now and do a heavy stagger check. After you successfully stagger, each player will have a color on their head. It can be blue or black.

The blue players need to go to the blue circles and the other ones the same with the same color. You will have to memorize these circles and balls for later. Balls will start coming your way and you’ll have to block them based on the color and circles that you were from before.

The Purple Boss can make a wipe attack but your teammates will see and know the locations where it is safe. So communication is key in order to dodge these wipe attacks.

At around 30% HP bar the bosses will be swapped in a sense. The ones fighting the purple will go to the other one and the same thing for the other team. Stand in the indicators to be in the safe zone.

When the Human side boss is 25% HP, the boss will again teleport to the middle and he will cast 4 safe spots in the area. One of these will glow indicating the safe zone. This is actually for the opposite team, so again, communication is key.

Finally, at 12 to 13% HP of the Human side, he will once again teleport to the middle and start with a major stagger check. This is the same mechanic as before.

There is one attack where the boss actually teleports to the middle and shows an indicator of a major attack known as the Falcons Attack which will commence and where. Balls will spawn and chase after the players. Lure them into the corners of the map. Once it touches you, a small diagonal piece pattern will begin. You will have to do a circle counterclockwise in this pattern.

If done successfully it will grant you a shield which will prevent you from taking damage in the upcoming attacks.

There will be a ring attack from the Purple boss as well. Easy to dodge, you will see which rings deal damage and which don’t.

That should be it. Have fun clearing Vykas Gate 1. A big thank you and gratitude to TenTen from YouTube. You can check him out here.
