The Raft is a beautiful survival game where you have to tackle the dangers of surviving on a small wooden raft in the middle of the stranded ocean. There was a new chapter recently added to the game. Let’s talk about the Machines and Farming tools that were added to it.

New Machinery & Farming – Raft Chapter 3 Guide

There aren’t a ton of new machinery and farming that have been added, but these that are added will definitely make for overall quality of life increase. Here we will also make a comparison between the older machines and the newer ones, for a better realization of what has changed.

Electric Grill

As you can clearly see in this picture shown here, the older one (the left one) will only have the capacity of cooking up to 3 items at a time. While the newer one offers double of that amount, or to be precise up to 6 cooking items.

The other positive of the Electric Grill is that it is powered by electricity, rather than those 4 wooden planks that you place in the other one (this is a pain because you will have to replace them every once in a while). You will be able to cook longer with the batteries on the Electric Grill, but the time needed to cook anything (potatoes, fish, etc.) will still be the same.

Juicer

Juices give some bonus hydration on your needs but also some other advantages. Just like the grill, the Juicer is also powered by a battery, instead of the old way with the pile of planks placed until the cooking pot. Instead of wood, now you’ll need batteries (copper).

It is also doing the same thing as before just it can go well and over with time. This means that you can place something to be cooked and not worry about it for a while.

Electric Smelter

This is probably the most essential thing you’ll need in the game because you’ll be using a lot of metals to build cool gadgets that are very useful. The older one (left) was only able to cook 1 item at a time, the electric one can smelt up to 3 items at a time.

It is also powered by electricity, but also the smelting time remains the same.

Advanced Collection Nets

The new one can hold up to 15 items. Mostly usable for the looks to be honest. Costs 4 Titanium. Yikes.

Advanced Biofuel Refiner

Source: Alidove

The new one actually hooks up to all the fuel pipes that are surrounding your base. This will make your life a ton easier making this new upgrade a very welcome change indeed. Also, you will just need to top off Potatoes and Honey for getting a new batch of fuel.

Windmill

This is a very big change. Instead of charging your batteries with biofuel like in the old days, now you’ll be able to use green energy to your advantage. The Windmill can charge up to 4 batteries at once. The only downside is that the Windmill is big and takes up a lot of space.

Recycler

This is mostly for the recycling of stuff and the new comparison with items that are gonna be thrown here.

Upgraded Anchor

The new one has a benefit that is really useful. It can be controlled by your engine controls. You will have an automatic stop that comes in handy

Farming – Crop Plots

Source: Alidove

The big change here is that you’ll be able to place more crops in these plots. The older ones are highly more friendly to place because of their structure. But combining them with the new ones now makes a perfect combination. Growing time is the same as the old ones.

The Medium crop plots are much more useful than the older ones. The shape is much better for crops and looks. You can also place double the plots here.

The Tree plots are absolutely no different from the old ones. Simply the looks differ but that’s about it.

That should be it for the new machinery and farming in the Raft. A special and huge thank you to Alidove from YouTube who went into detail about all of these new changes, as well as shared her opinion about them too. You can check her YouTube Channel here.
