There are many puzzles and enemies that will try to block your progress in Super Mario RPG Remake. Among these are the various puzzles within the Sunken Ship, which will require just a bit of creative thinking and a whole bunch of platforming and navigating to complete. Having said that, this guide will help you with each of the puzzles that you’ll encounter here!

Sunken Ship All Door Puzzle Solutions

After progressing a bit into the Sunken Ship, you will eventually stumble into a room with multiple doors that are each housing their own unique puzzles.

Completing each of these puzzles will grant you clues to the password at the final room, and you will need all of these hints to solve the puzzle.

Door #1

For the first door, you will find a button floating in the air and a cannonball sitting atop a pile of crates. You will also notice that there is a single flying enemy in this room.

To get the cannonball to hit the button, you will simply have to lure the flying enemy into the correct spot to push it off the crates.

Super Mario RPG Remake puzzle #1

An easy way to do this is to have it line up with the cannonball by running to the upper corner of the room. Then, quickly sprint to the right when it’s right beside the cannonball.

The clue that you will receive upon completing the puzzle in this room will indicate that the password has the letter “S” in it.

Door #2

For the next door, you will see a series of spring platforms moving left and right on the top floor, and there are crates that you can bump into that will stop each of them.

The idea here is that you have to line them up in a way that, when a cannonball is dropped on the far left corner of the room, it will bounce all the way up to the button in the opposite end.

Super Mario RPG Remake puzzle #2

For the first two platforms from the left, you will want to line them up with the crates. For the last one, rather than lining it up with the final crate, you must stop it in the middle of the last two crates on the right. Refer to the image below if this explanation confuses you.

Super Mario RPG Remake puzzle #2 solution

Once you’ve successfully bounced the cannonball onto the button, you will receive the next clue, which says that the password is an object that can be found on the bed of the ocean.

Door #3

The “puzzle” in the third door is more of a maze, and this is where it gets a bit tricky to explain. Basically, you have to navigate through stacks of boxes without being able to see Mario for the most part.

First, after going inside the room, enter through the opening on the left. Keep running forward until you hit a dead end, then turn to your right and jump once.

Super Mario RPG Remake puzzle #3 entrance

Once you hit another wall, turn to your right again and jump up twice. Then, upon hitting another wall, go south, and then run to your left until you see Mario through the opening.

Go out of this opening and proceed to the next one. Then, jump on top of the next stack of boxes and turn left to enter the maze once more.

Super Mario RPG Remake puzzle #3 halfway solution

Upon going through this path, you will fall down a hole. Run to your left and you should fall even further down.

Continue running to your left until you hit a dead end, then jump up. Continue jumping up a few more elevated steps to the right.

After hitting another wall, turn right, and then immediately make a left after taking a couple of steps. If you did it correctly, you should be able to see Mario again when you try to jump.

Super Mario RPG Remake puzzle #3 end

From here, simply jump up until you can reach the button. The next clue states that the password has two vowels in it.

Door #4

For this one, you simply have to collect the coins as they appear all around the room. Just be quick about it, as they do disappear after a few seconds.

The next clue will appear once you get the last coin, and it states that the password is something that is “very valuable”.

Door #5

This room features another relatively easy puzzle. All you will require here is a good sense of timing as you will need to jump at precise moments.

Basically, once you jump on the box with the letter “J” on it at the leftmost corner of the room, the first cannon will fire.

Super Mario RPG Remake puzzle #5

Quickly stand under the shadow of the next box, then jump up once the cannonball is over your head. Repeat this step for the next two boxes to activate them.

If you managed to successfully get all the cannonballs to hit the floating boxes, the next clue should fall down. It implies that the passcode is a plural word.

Door #6

For the sixth and final puzzle, all you have to do is jump on top of the stack of barrels on the far right corner of the room.

Upon doing so, one of them should fall down and line up with one of the buttons. Simply jump on top of it a few times to roll it over the first button.

Super Mario RPG Remake puzzle #6

Once the barrel is on top of one of the buttons, jump on the other one and the next clue should fall down. It will state that the letter “R” comes before “L”.

The Password Itself

After solving the previous puzzle, proceed to the room to your right and you should see six floating boxes.

Using the clues from earlier and the letters that we have available for each box, we can deduce that the password is “PEARLS”.

Super Mario RPG Remake final puzzle solution

Simply enter this code by selecting the correct letters for boxes number one through six. From there, interact with the pipe to the right side of the room and the door should swing open.

That’s pretty much all you need to know about the puzzles in the Sunken Ship. It’s actually pretty easy to complete all of them, though the maze bit can get slightly confusing!
