If you love JRPGs then Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes is just the game for you. It has a unique open world with a plethora of different Heroes you can play. Luckily, the game is available on a lot of platforms such as Steam, PS4 & PS5, Xbox One & Series X | S and Nintendo Switch.
The Proving Ground is one of the quests that you have to complete in order to progress your main story. But the quest is confusing and you can easily get lost and waste your time running around. But this guide will help you out with that.
Guide on The Proving Grounds Quest
The main objective of this quest is to press 4 hidden switches which will open up a gate through which you can progress further. Those switches are hidden around pretty well. I will provide a step by step method of completing this quest below starting with the first switch.
Pressing the 1st Switch
When you are in the Main Room of the quest, press the button in the middle until you get the following Room Configuration.
Once you get the Room arranged in that order, go to the lower left room marked in the image below.
After getting inside the room, go down below and follow the Blue Line on the ground to the Lift.
Interact with the Lift (it looks like a small circular platform with 2 fans on top as shown below).
Once you take the Lift, you will reach a new area. Here, keep going forward (following the Blue Line on the ground) until you reach the Puzzle shown in the image below. You need to step once, first on the left and then right pad (marked below). This will move all the discs on the middle platform, now cross over going through the middle platform.
There is also a Treasure Chest on the left platform so do not forget to get that as well.
Now keep following the Blue Line on the ground and you will reach the First Switch, step on it to activate it. It is shown below.
Once you activate the switch, go to the left and take the Lift. It will take you to the room shown below. Step on the switch to open the Door. This door will lead you back to the Main Room.
Activating the 2nd Switch
Now that you have activated the First Switch and are back in the Main Room, press the button in the middle to change the Room Configuration to the one shown below.
After that, you need to visit the lower left room again. If you forgot, it is marked in the image below.
But this time, once you get inside the room, you have to move upwards and go to the upper right door as you can see in the image below.
The above mentioned door will take you to the area shown below. Here, take the stairs on the right and enter the door (marked below).
Once you get inside the room, go down below. Refer to the image below for guidance.
After you move a little in the direction of the Blue Line on the ground, you will come across the Lift shown below. Take this Lift.
This Lift will take you below to another room in which you have to solve another Puzzle just like before. First step three times on the left pad (also collect the Treasure Chest on the left platform). After that, step once on the right pad. The 4 discs will be arranged as shown in the image below. Now use the middle platform to cross over.
Keep following the Blue Line on the ground and you will come across the Second Switch as shown below. Step on the switch to activate it. Now make your way back to the Main Room.
Activating the 3rd Switch
Once you get back to the Main Room, you want to press the button in the middle until you achieve the following Room Configuration.
After which, go ahead and visit the room on the far left. The path to it is marked in the image below.
Once you get there, you will come across a Lift by following the Blue Line on the ground. Take the Lift, it will take you up to the next area in which there will be another Lift (it is shown below). Take this Life to go down.
You will be taken down to the room shown below. Step on the Third Switch to activate it. Once activated, return to the Main Room by going back on the same path.
Finding Hidden Treasure Chests
Before you go ahead and activate the last switch, there are 3 Hidden Treasure Chests that you can also get.
1st Hidden Treasure Chest
First press the button in the middle to change the Room to the following Configuration.
After you do that, go to the door (shown below). It is located directly on the right side of the button which changes the Configuration of the Room.
Once you go inside the room, take the Lift that you will come across. After taking the Lift, keep following the Blue Line until you reach the Puzzle you solved before. There is another Lift once you cross over the Puzzle area. That Lift will take you to the area shown below.
Once here, just keep going where the Blue Line is and you will reach the area shown below. Take the door which is marked by the arrow in the image below.
After going through the door, you will notice a Lift in the middle, take that lift.
It will take you directly to the hidden room shown below. You will find the 1st Hidden Treasure Chest here.
2nd Hidden Treasure Chest
Upon opening the First Hidden Treasure Chest, go back through the Lift you came in. Now you need to go to the door on the lower right side. The path has been marked for you in the image down below.
This door will take you to a room which has a Lift at the end. There is also a normal Treasure Chest here, open that as well and then take the Lift. You will be taken down to another room in which you just need to follow the Blue Line on the ground. You will reach the Second Hidden Treasure Chest. Open it and then go back to the Main Room.
3rd Hidden Treasure Chest
Now press the button in the middle to change the Configuration of the Room to the one shown below.
Once done, now go back to the room on the right side of the button (shown below).
You will come across a Lift, take the Lift. Then keep going straight until you reach the Puzzle area (which you solved before), ahead of this area is another Lift, take that as well. You will reach the room shown below which you have visited multiple times now. But this time, you have to go inside the lower right door. Refer to the image below if confused.
You will come across yet another Lift in the middle as shown below. Use the Lift to go up to the next room.
You will reach the area shown below which has the Third Hidden Treasure Chest. After opening it, return to the Main Room.
Activating the 4th Switch (Last One)
This is the last part of the quest, I know it was quite long and confusing but you are almost done. Press the button in the middle until you get the following Room Configuration.
Once done, go to the lower left room shown below.
And then go upwards to the door on the right. You will reach the area you can see in the image below. Now go to the door on the far right side (second stairs) which is marked down below in the image.
After you go inside you will come across a Lift, after taking that Lift you will reach another room which has a Lift as well. Once you take that Lift, you will reach the room shown below. Press the Fourth Switch to activate it and that will mark your quest complete.
