There are a lot of things to take note of when playing Cosmoteer. After all, you take the role of a captain of your ship, as well as any other ship that you take control of. It is no easy task managing a lot of ships, but you make it work in order to keep your fleet of ships alive. However, there are some things that are too complicated to deal with that you just leave them alone. An example is Prisms. Prism Guide – Cosmoteer
The thing about prisms is that combinations are an important thing to work on when arranging them. As you can see from the image above, the left beam is doing poorly compared to the right beam. Despite the left beam having the same ions as the right, an improper combination can lead to poor results and less damage.
As you can see from the image, each side has the same number of ions. Yet the right side is performing well. That is because on the right side, the prisms have been arranged to hit one single ion that is aiming at a target. The easiest way to explain this is that the single prism that is shooting the beam is being powered by two other sources of the same beam, thus increasing its power.
When using Prisms, it is important to not use redirection prisms. They are not only unnecessary, but they are also a waste of resources. A good design does not need redirection prisms. The image above is an example of a good design without unnecessary redirection prisms.
There are better ways to get better results and damage with your beams. One such way is by using more output prisms. As you can see on the image, the left beam that was doing so well previously, is now slower than the right beam. That is because the right beam is a combination of beams fires at the same time.
