Gunfire Reborn is one of the newest games out there and it’s an FPS roguelike with RPG elements. That’s right, it’s an FPS RPG game where you have to go through procedurally generated levels and get as far as possible. It features different characters to choose from as well as different build possibilities for those characters. Since it’s a new game there might be some apprehension when it comes to just jumping in. Even when you jump in you might get lost since it’s new, so in this article we’ll show you some tips and tricks new players should keep in mind when playing the game.

If you’re new to the game it might be a bit intimidating to see all of the stuff you can do. This can cause a bit of confusion for new players, so in this guide we’ll show you some tips on how to avoid that.
Roguelike
The game is a roguelike, that means you’ll fail at one point and you shouldn’t be down because of that. Roguelikes are games where you try to get as far from the beginning levels as possible, and when you get defeated you go back to the first level. This may sound bad but look at it like personal bests and learning more about the game just makes you go through those first starter levels quicker.
Talents
When you go through a run and defeat enemies you’ll get soul essence. This can be used to unlock talents in the game. Some talents are simple where you just get more health or defense, while others give you an edge like a highly suggested talent to get early on: Arms Support. This makes sure that you get a weapon on the initial treasure chest, and when you get to level 3 any weapon can be obtained from it.
Heroes
There are a lot of heroes you can choose in the game, the first hero which is the Crown Prince used to be the worst one, but now it’s actually one of the best ones in the game. You can go through hundreds of runs with just this character since it’s so good. Some heroes can be unlocked when you reach a certain level while others you need to pay essence to do so.
Armory
You can go to your Armory from the main menu and there you can see what weapons you’ve unlocked. From there you can check what their stats are and even how much you’ve killed with that weapon. Most weapons are unlocked through doing specific tasks like killing a number of certain enemies. To see how you unlock a weapon you can check it in the Armory.
Peddler
While going through runs you might find these peddlers that are selling some stuff for you to use. This can help you a lot but remember that what they sell is usually random. This can be a great way to get a good weapon mid-run if you’re lacking a certain type of damage and so on.
Craftsman
If you’re good with your weapon you can also find these Craftsman that can upgrade and enhance your weapon further, so if you have some spare coins you should always go for these. Usually these upgrades boost the stats of your weapons like damage so keep an eye out for them while doing runs.
