New Longsword Switch Skills Guide – Monster Hunter Sunbreak

These are the skills you need to know to become a proper longsword user. A great combination of counters and hard-hitting strikes makes you look like you’re always in control of the field!

Harvest Moon

Switch LT + B
Costs 2 wire bugs

First off on the list is Harvest Moon. It places a circle on the ground that you need to stay inside. Be careful, using the skill will leave you vulnerable for a short time! Counters within the ring will yield additional hits. Sheathing your sword will decrease your Spirit Gauge and remove the circle. If you try to leave the circle you get knocked back, doing so twice will also remove it.

Tempered Spirit Blade

Switch LT+Y
Costs 1 wire bug, recovery will be fast

Tempered spirit blade is a new skill that’s also a counter. When you time it right you can fill your spirit gauge and increase your spirit level by one. One neat trick with this skill is that you don’t need to connect to a monster to gain the benefits, for example, you can counter barrel bombs to increase your spirit levels without even seeing your first enemy!

Sacred Sheathe Combo

Switch RB+A and Hold RB, release when fully sheathed, or release early to counter.
While holding you can hop around with your left analogue stick and press the B button.

The third skill on this list is the Sacred Sheathe Combo which is more complex than the previous skill. You hold the button to sheathe your sword and release it to deal massive hits. You can also release it early to perform a counter. While doing the sheathe animation you can get hit without taking any damage but it will cost you one spirit level.
