Garangolm is one of the new Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak monsters. It is a giant that normally roams the Citadel, but mysterious incidents in the region have caused it to unexpectedly travel to other areas, such as the Flooded Forest. A Garangolm, despite its appearance, is incredibly aggressive and capable of killing anything that happens to stand in its path. However, the Tacky Photo side quest requires you to do just that.

Tacky Photo Sidequest Guide – Monster Hunter Sunbreak
A lot of people have been confused about how to complete the Tacky Photo side quest. Players find it weird in description and misleading often times leading into an unfinished quest that just stays with time untouched.
You can actually start and begin this quest from the NPC by the name of Fran the Stalwart. The side quest says to: Take a picture of Garangolm’s elemental arms. What it doesn’t tell you, is that you need to take the picture while Garangolm needs to be doing something.
This something is actually when he is charging at you with full speed. Only then you are supposed to take out the camera and take a photo of it. It might be dangerous and risky because you might be in danger, but that’s the fun of it.
You will need to take the picture exactly at this time as shown in the picture above. He will be slamming the ground first with one hand and then with the other. After that, he will proceed to make a big roar and scream and this is the charge. So just simply time this moment perfectly and walla! You will have the Tacky Photo sidequest completed.
Also, just to be completely safe when it is a good time to take a picture when you’ll be inside the Camera Mode you will see the photo frame. On the top right corner of this frame, there will be a red icon. This indicated that the time is right! It should a little something like this.
