Let’s face it, you can’t really spell “Early Access” without having one or two, or even a plethora of things not working as intended on your first few hours of gameplay.
Sure it’s funny when you get stuck in the environment a couple of times, but that’s all part of the experience, regardless of how frustrating it may be at times. Now in spite of all this, there are still some other features out there that can actually benefit you and your friends.
No need to feel guilty about exploiting them as Sons Of The Forest really isn’t a competitive Twitch shooter, so let’s take a look at what the game has in store for you.
Sons Of The Forest | 4 Incredibly Useful Glitches
Just like the previous installment, there are some bugs or glitches that will probably be left as is once the devs decide to move on to another sequel. But obviously, that will take a while so let’s make use of this time to profit from the game’s lack of polish!
#1 Infinite Logs
If you played the last installment and have gotten through the dread of sleeping underneath your temporary shelter at night while the locals terrorize you then the next thing that may bother you is the actual grind of gathering logs to wall off your base.
This is especially prevalent if you’re in a single-player session as you do all of the legwork.
So for this trick, all you will need is a log and a stick. That’s it!
Just place the log firmly on the ground, grab your stick, place it underneath that log, and simply walk towards it. The moment you do that the log will drop down, roll over to the side, and a new one will pop up from the ground.
Sure you have to pick up the log and put it back down but it’s a hell of a lot better than running back to the neighboring biome just so you can tear down all the plant life that you see. Make sure to have plenty of sticks in your inventory to lessen the hassle even more!
#2 Item Duplication
If you can duplicate logs then you can definitely do the same for the items you pick up near the crash site. Close your eyes if you enjoy the hardcore experience as this glitch is definitely not for you! Now go around the helicopter and empty every container you can get your hands on.
Pitch your tent and save the game after your looting spree. Quit to the main menu, come back in, and all of the boxes will be refilled.
A known “issue” ever since The Forest, but if you already know how tedious the grind is in a survival crafting game then surely you would look over something as time-saving as this?
#3 3D Printer Abuse
The wonders of technology have made their way into The Forest! Some players are confused about why having a 3D printer in the game is a thing, but all of those negative thoughts will be cast aside with what you’ll be doing to it in the next few minutes!
So the first thing you need to do is feed the printer some Resin as it is hungry. You can easily get five arrows by doing this.
Given that the researchers in this facility are treated with respect, you can find a bed nearby and use that to save the game.
You know where this is going so now quit to the main menu and reload your most recent session again to have the resin refilled along with every container you previously opened. It’s just like magic!
#4 Edible Rotten Meat
More of an oversight rather than a glitch but if you let your meat rot and cook it at a campfire it will still come out fresh and untainted as if it never rotted in the first place! Quite useful if you somehow run out of food and there aren’t any other sources nearby.
So, there you have it. 4 Incredibly Useful Glitches to make your first week of survival all the easier. Now try and pelt some cannibals with a grenade!
