Pikmin 4 is the highly acclaimed upcoming game in the Pikmin series set to release on the Nintendo Switch. Recently a demo for the game was released on the Switch Eshop to give players a taste of what is coming. This guide will focus on how to get the Blue Pikmin Bulb in the demo.
How to Get The Blue Pikmin Bulb
The first step is to use 30 Ice Pikmin to freeze the lake’s surface so that you can get across it. If done correctly, this will result in the entire lake freezing, allowing your character to move across to the other side.
The next step is to move to the partially completed wall on the other side of the water body. This will require 10 Pikmin to be rebuilt. Throw the Pikmin at the wall to assign them to this task, and they will move back to base and obtain large rocks to rebuild the wall.
Building the wall will require two round trips for the Pikmin. In the second turn, only 5 Pikmin will return to obtain the remaining material to build the wall. Once the wall is built, your character and the associated Pikmin can climb over the wall.
Before climbing the wall, get the Pikmin back into your group that kept the lake frozen. Once they are back in the group, you will have to move fast since if it is not done quickly, the lake will unfreeze. This will require you to repeat the entire process.
On top of the wall, you will find an enemy that requires 40 Ice Pikmin at once to defeat it. If you can hold up to 40 Pikmin at once, throw these at the enemy to defeat it. This will ensure that it does not get in your way later when transporting the bulb.
After defeating the enemy, you should spot the Blue Bulb submerged in the ground. Simply use 20 Pikmin to excavate it from the ground. Once excavated, the Pikmin will pick up the bulb and begin to follow you.
After reaching the edge of the ledge, you will notice a short cutscene. This will tell the player that the Pikmin cannot transport the bulb since the water is blocking them. For this using the Ice Pikmin, freeze the lake once again. It might be possible that you need the Pikmin that were carrying the bulb for freezing the lake so make sure that the bulb is set down properly.
Move across the lake and call on Otachi the dog. Ride Otachi to where the blue bulb is and dismount him. Then send Otachi to the bulb and he will begin pulling on the bulb to bring it to the opposite side. You can also assign Pikmin to the bulb to help Otachi move the bulb faster.
Otachi and the Pikmin will automatically carry the bulb over to the main bulb in the center. Once directly beneath it, the blue bulb will be absorbed, and the main bulb will also have a blue color portion on it. After this, you will notice a blue sprout near the bulb. Pluck it from the ground, and you successfully unlock Blue Pickmin, which will help you explore underwater areas.
