Type Soul lets you choose what race you want to be when you start. Naturally, you start off as a human, but you can choose to be other races if you want. There’s the Soul Reapers, the Vizards, the Quincy’s, and the Hollow. You are able to choose which race you can become, but once you choose one, you will never be able to go back. So that means you have to make a choice that will decide your game. In this guide, I will show you which race is the best race you can use in Type Soul.

Which Race Is Best?

So, which is the best race? Well, it would have to be the Soul Reaper race. While you can get powerful skills as a Quincy early on, they are not good in close combat compared to Soul Reapers. Soul Reapers are great all-around fighters, and the ability to have Bankai can overwhelm a lot of enemies. It is a bit of a grind, but it’s still the best race. Choosing a race is hard to do, because you’re not going to know how the other race works once you select a race. That’s why it’s important to know the benefits of each race before you make a big decision. Here is an overview of each race and what they’re capable of doing:

1. Soul Reaper

The Soul Reaper is the race of the protagonist of Bleach, Ichigo Kurosaki. If you become a Soul Reaper, you will have access to pretty much everything you see in the anime. The Zanpakuto as your main weapon, and then Shikai and Bankai as your weapon upgrades. Soul Reapers are considered the “balanced” class in the game due to how they can excel in both close range and long range battles.

2. Quincy

Quincy’s are the long range specialists in Type Soul. Summoning bow and arrows made of light, you can attack your enemies from afar without ever needing to get close. However, if you do want to get up close and personal, you can attack your enemies with a sword made of light. It’s not as powerful as Soul Reaper melee weapon, but it is incredibly useful when you need to deal damage to an enemy that’s already close to you. You also have access to powerful skill early on, which makes Quincy’s incredibly powerful.

3. Hollow

Lastly, we have the Hollows. These are the enemies of both the Soul Reapers and the Quincies. When you choose Hollows, you will start incredibly weak, much weaker than that of a starting Soul Reaper and Quincy. However, if you grind enough, you can reach the Arrancar and even Vasto Lorde level, which is the highest form of Hollow. Hollows is an interesting race because it starts off with incredibly slow progression, right until you reach Arrancar. But it does offer powerful skills in the end.
