If you need to defend yourself, you can use the Golden Gloves. This will allow you to temporary protect yourself from the attack as well as the explosion from the Rhythm user. Then, you can try to counter attack and do some extra damage to your opponent.
Cheeky is a decent weapon you can use to counter the Rhythm. This is because you can resist the knockback as well the explosion quite well. They won’t be able to do much against you even if their beat count is incredibly high and they are moving really quickly.
Shukuchi is only good if you manage to knock your opponents back. Otherwise, they will come back and defeat you. Overall, this glove is still really great and is one of the best ways to counter the Rhythm Gloves!
Blocked and Buddies are weapons that allow you completely ignore the attacks of the Rhythm except for the explosion. So you can consider using these weapons as well. Rocky is one of the best counters against the Rhythm so try using that out!
The last two weapons are the end-game weapons and of course they are going to be good against the Rhythm. These abilities will allow you to “Stop Time” and “Touch of Midas” to deal damage to the Rhythm user. The Flex and God’s Hand are indeed one of the best counters you can go for.
70% Counter / Great Counter
The Extended Glove is also a good option since you will have a longer range compared to the Rhythm Glove user. However, keep it in mind that the Rhythm Glove gives decent speed, which means that they can also run close to you and avoid your damage. This is quite a 70% since you will need to learn to control the distance.
Another glove that is around 80% effective against the Rhythm Glove is the Squid. You can use this to apply a black screen on your opponent, making them unable to see their attacks. They can still build up the beat count since the feature does not get hidden from their screen like the Mail Glove.
The Replica Gloves can help you spawn minions to assist you in battle. What makes this good against the Rhythm is that the minions do not get affected by the explosion. So next time they run at you, summon those minions!
Woah and Adios are decent weapons which you can use against the Rhythm. However, the effects will only temporarily save you and they aren’t that much of a solution against the weapon.
The Phantom is like the Ghost, which you can use to sneak in and sneak out. However, you will want to be really careful as you do this since they can deal some attacks to you if you’re not careful. Overall, this is great against the Rhythm Glove!
50/50 Counter / Decent Counter
Za Hando is also a decent Glove you can use to pull and launch your opponent away from you. You can use this to catch Rhythm players and throw them off the edge of maps. However, do note that if your opponent uses the explosion move, you will want to not pull them towards you in that time frame.
Pusher is also a 50/50 weapon since it depends on how you are using your special ability. You can use the Pusher’s ability to push your opponent away from you or even off the map. It depends on whether you will manage to get the right angles.
The Magnet also stands a 50/50 chance of you winning. You can also land your slaps on your opponent, and they can also land their attacks on you. In matchups like this, your best bet is to maintain the distance and pay attention to your opponent’s moves.
You can also use the Thick Gloves to control the fight more easily with a bigger attack. However, this will only work if your opponent has not built up rhythm and they are still quite slow. Once they get quicker with a lot more counts, you’ll want to pay attention and try to land your hits on them. So it’s quite a 50/50 whether you can win.
The Ghost Glove can also be a 50/50. You will get the ability to go invisible and sneak up against the Rhythm. However, after you reveal yourself, you can also become a target and they can jump on you to do damage.
The Killstreak and Reverse are decent gloves that give you a 50/50 chance of winning against the Rhythm. Keep it in mind that you will want to charge your Killstreak weapon to a certain number before you fight. And Reverse can’t reverse the explosion so note that as well!
