Dave The Diver: How to Capture a Horned Parrotfish

It’s time to catch the Horned Parrotfish in Dave the Diver! The pixel diving-fishing game has not just your normal lionfish, but also monster fish, codenamed monfish. And there’s always a space in the fishing magazine for a new monfish picture.

This time, Udo came to us with news of the Humphead Parrotfish, or what we know as the Horned Parrotfish. Here’s how you can find it.

How to Capture a Horned Parrotfish

Udo will come to you with a new request to find the Horned Parrotfish and show you what it looks like. The hint about the monfish is that it appears near the Boat Wreckage. It’s not hard to find nor is it too deep.

Additionally, you get the Fishmon Tracker which will tell you when there’s one nearby. It’s going to help you spot the fish when you cannot differentiate them just yet. Going to your tracker will reveal to you that this fish lives at 40m depth. Keep going right at 10m until you find this particular bedrock and start going down.

While you swim, try opening weapon chests that might give you something good to deal with the fish.

At roughly 40m you will find a single Horned Parrotfish and it’s time to catch it!

Monfish are tougher than your typical fish and will quite the hits before you can land a catch. Horned Parrotfish is invincible to frontal attacks. Meaning it doesn’t do anything to shoot your harpoon or hit them from the front.

Horned Parrotfish doesn’t have a complex attack pattern and is basically a goat. It will charge every now and then which can be easily dodged by swimming up or down. After charging, they reveal their back to you and it makes them vulnerable.

So the trick is just to wait them to charge, then hit them. Do that a couple of times until the Horned Parrotfish is unconscious and you can collect it!
