Pikmin 4 is the highly acclaimed upcoming game in the Pikmin series set to release on the Nintendo Switch. Recently a demo for the game was released on the Switch Eshop to give players a taste of what is coming. The game focuses on collecting these creatures, known as Pikmin, with different abilities to perform certain tasks. This article will be a farming guide for the Ice & Rock Pikmin.
Ice Pikmin & Rock Pikmin Farming Pikmin
This guide will be split into two parts, with each focusing on how to efficiently farm the Ice and Rock Pikmin. A little heads up, you’ll need to do a little bit of running around and fighting some bad guys. Without further ado, let’s get right into it!
Ice Pikmin
For farming the Ice Pikmin, you will need to head over to the Drafty Gallery, which can be found towards the upper left side of the map. The location is highlighted on the map image below.
Interact with the entrance of the gallery and choose to travel to the second sub-level in order to begin your farming expedition. Once on this sub-level, locate the Blue Bulb, which will open up when you get close to it. Feed this bulb a few Fire Pikmin, and out will pop Ice Pikmin. Pluck these from the ground, and the first set has officially been farmed.
Now head to the next sub-level, and upon spawning, you should notice a Draft towards the left side. Take this draft to move forward.
After landing, go forwards, and you should see an enemy. Do not engage with this enemy and move towards the path on the right.
On this path, take the first left, followed by the first right. Ahead you should spot an enemy who is fighting a few Ice Pikmin. Using the Fire Pikmin in your inventory helps the Ice Pikmin defeat this enemy. Once the enemy is defeated, the Ice Pikmin will join your roster.
After getting this batch of Pikmin, take the path back that you came from, and you should notice another Draft. Take this Draft, and you will see the final 5 Pikmin that you can pluck from the ground.
This concludes farming the Ice Pikmin, and you can return to the surface and repeat this method as many times as you wish.
Rock Pikmin
For farming, the Rock Pikmin head over to the Kingdom of Beasts, which can be found in the lower right corner of the map as indicated in the image below.
As with the Ice Pikmin, start from the second sub-level, and you should, upon spawning, find two enemies fighting a couple of Rock Pikmin. Help the Rock Pikmin defeat the enemies, and they should join your team.
After defeating the enemies, go ahead towards the bush and take the path towards the right straight ahead. Take the left at the end of the path, and you should spot the next enemy fighting the Rock Pikmin.
As done previously, help the Rock Pikmin defeat the enemy, and they will join your roster. You can go back to the surface and repeat farming on this sub-level, but we recommend heading to the next sub-level. Note that completing these next sub levels is optional.
Optional Sub-Levels
Head for the third sub-level, and upon spawning, you should see a giant enemy that is resting. Avoid this enemy and go straight ahead, where you will find the entrance to the next sub-level. Take this entrance and move deeper into the farming area. In this sub-level, you should be able to find an enemy fighting the Rock Pikmin. Defeat this enemy to obtain the Rock Pikmin.
Take the entrance to the fifth sub-level, and upon spawning, you should see a bush in front of you. Go through this bush, and straight ahead, you should see the first enemy. Defeat this enemy to get more Rock Pikmin.
Before heading back to the surface, head right from the spawn of this sub-level. You should be able to locate a bush, and right ahead of it will be the entrance to the next sub-level. There will be a couple of Pikmin inside this bush, so go ahead and pluck them.
That sums it up for the Rock Pikmin. Again, you can return to the surface and re-do the method as many times as you want.
