Starsiege Deadzone is an early access game where you play as a scavenger that delves into old and abandoned space stations that are now overrun by hostile Cybrids as you search for valuable resources. With that premise, you need to be aware of what the best weapons are in the game, and which weapons you need to avoid. In this tier list, we are going to show you the best weapons to use in the game, and the weapons that you should probably avoid if you want to last longer in the game.
Best Weapons Tier List
Understanding your weapons is an important part of surviving in Starsiege Deadzone. With that in mind, you should also understand which weapons are great, and which weapons are not. Here is a tier list of all of the weapons in the game and where they’re ranked:
S Ter
- Assault Rifle – The classic Assault Rifle gets the top spot of the tier list due to how completely OP it is. With its fast rate of fire, combined with the lack of recoil evident when using the game, players can absolutely delete a player without them even noticing that they’re being shot at.
- Spinfuser – This energy weapon may not be good in PvP, but it is absolutely a beast in PvE. Many have claimed that it is nerfed in the game, but others have stated that the Spinfuser is still doing the job of blowing people up without a care in the world.
- Sniper – In the hands of a great shooter, the Sniper has the ability to kill enemies with a well placed headshot. It has also been nerfed, but it is still a deadly weapon if you’re a good aim.
A Tier
- Pulse Rifle – The Pulse Rifle is essentially a much slower Assault Rifle. It is also an energy weapon that can do the same DPS as Assault Rifle. However, while it is the same, the slow bullet velocity makes it not as good as the Assault Rifle.
- EMP Rifle – Same as the Pulse Rifle, the EMP Rifle is essentially an energy weapon that is only good against PvE. You won’t find much use for this gun against PvP players.
- Handcannon – If you’re looking for a middle ground between the Assault Rifle and Sniper, then the Handcannon is for you. It is an incredibly powerful weapon to use, but it requires a lot of skill. The Handcannon can easily dominate in PvP and PvE ain the right hands, but it can get you killed if you’re not familiar with it.
- Crossbow – This gun is only really good against PvP. When it hits, it can do some great damage. But you have to take into account that the Crossbow fires very slowly, and you can risk getting killed if you miss your shot.
B Tier
- LMG – The LMG is for when you want to go full Rambo. It is a slower Assault Rifle, one that is capable of holding a lot more bullets. However, it is bad due to the slow reload speed and the fire rate being slow. It’s great against PvP, but with how slow it fires and the reload speed being slow as well, it’s not a good gun to have.
- DMR – The DMR is a single shot rifle that can do some damage in the right hands. It’s mostly good against PvP, but the single shot fire rate can cause you to lose your aim. It is also significantly weaker as well. Compared to the Handcannon, the DMR feels like you’re shooting peas.
- Silenced Pistol – Sneaking around in the game is something you should try doing, and the Silence Pistol can help with that. It can keep you safe from PvP and PvE enemies, and the damage is surprisingly solid. However, it is still a pistol and it’s not that strong when up against the likes of Assault Rifle and Handcannons. It’s only really useful when you’re playing stealthily.
- Minigun – Surprisingly, the Minigun is not all that great to have. While it can devastate PvP easily and hold its own against PvE, you will find yourself incredibly slowed down. You can’t move too fast and when you shoot, the speed goes down even more. I can only really see someone using this gun if it’s the last resort. Either that, or they want to feel like a Terminator.
C Tier
- SMG – The SMG is really mostly for close range combat, which is something you do not want to do in Starsiege Deadzone. You will always want to keep away from your enemies. With that said, the SMG is very good to have, but only at close range combat. The recoil of this gun is noticeable, and you can feel it with every shot that comes out.
- Auto Pistol – The Auto Pistol just feels like a worse SMG, and the SMG already feels like a worse Assault Rifle. I don’t really see anyone using this gun unless they are desperate and out of ammo for anything else.
- Pistol – It is the same as the Silenced Pistol, but it has a slightly higher damage. However, what makes the Silenced Pistol better than the Pistol is that it has a slightly better rate of fire, while the Pistol just has the normal rate of fire. It’s not recommended to use this unless you have no choice.
D Tier
- Double Barrel Shotgun – As stated before, close range is not good. So having a Double Barrel Shotgun is not ideal. However, the gun itself is very good. It does a large amount of damage, sometimes being able to kill enemies with one shot. But due to the requirement of needing to be close to the enemy, it’s not ideal to use shotguns unless you are in a situation that requires them.
- Pulse Pistol – The Pulse Pistol is the upgraded version of the pistol you start with. However, it is incredibly weak, even if it is upgraded. It’s not good at PvP and it’s barely good at PvE, so you should ditch it for any other gun.
- Pulse Shotgun – Reason why the Pulse Shotgun is at the bottom is because the Pulse Shotgun is an energy weapon. Energy weapons are only ever good against PvE, and since this is a shotgun, you need to be up close and personal. Again, being in close quarters is not ideal in this game, and using the Pulse Shotgun is not worth it.
That’s all you need to know about the weapons tiers list for Starsiege Deadzone. Did this tier list help you understand why each weapon is where it’s at? Let us know in the comments below.
