Drag Project is one of the few games made for motorcycle enthusiasts. The game focuses on drag racing which is a popular sport in Southeast Asian countries. Players can accumulate Malasiyian Ringit, which is the main currency in the game. This can be used to purchase additional motorcycles. The currency is gained through winning races in the game. This article will serve as a beginner’s guide for the game.
Complete Beginner’s Guide
Gears and Basic Controls
The first thing that players should be aware of is the Gear system that this game has. The gears can be found at the bottom of the screen, where your speed is also displayed.
- The E button is used for Upshift.
- While the Q button is used for Downshift.
- To move your vehicle forward, simply use the W button.
While driving, your main goal should be to gain as much speed as possible. To do this, you need to shift at the right moment. Usually, to gain speed, you need to Upshift since this allows you to switch to a higher gear and gain speed. Downshift switches the vehicle to a lower gear allowing it to gain more Acceleration.
To slow down your vehicle and bring it to a stop, you can either use the Brake or the Handbrake.
- To Brake, use the S button.
- While the Handbrake can be triggered using the Shift key.
We recommend using both keys together if you want to stop quickly. Once the Handbrake is triggered, it needs to be disengaged once again by pressing the Shift key. A red warning icon at the bottom of the screen indicates the Handbrake is active.
Manual
For seasoned drivers who prefer a nice challenge, the Manual mode can also be engaged. What this means is that when shifting gears, players will need to use the Clutch since, without it, you cannot Upshift or Downshift. The Clutch can be disengaged by pressing and holding the P button.
For Upshifting in Manual mode, you need to disengage the Clutch and then press the E button. For Downshifting it is the same method, except you need to press Q after the clutch is disengaged.
Camera
There are multiple camera angles that can be used in this game. The first one is the First Person mode which can be triggered by pressing the V button. This offers a much more immersive gameplay experience as compared to the traditional third-person angle.
While in the first-person mode, you can press the B key to disengage the camera lock. This allows you to use your mouse to look around.
Mouse Control
The R key can be used to trigger mouse controls which allow you to control your vehicle using your mouse buttons. The left and right mouse buttons are used for Accelerating and Decelerating, respectively. Moving the mouse around allows you to steer the direction in which the vehicle is moving. Shifting gears in this mode are the same as usual, using the Q and E keys.
Wheelies
A very fun mechanic in this game is the ability to do Wheelies with your bike. This can be achieved by pressing the T key.
Center Stands
A few of the bikes in this game have Center Stands. These can be toggled by clicking on the lower portion of the bike. What the Center Stand does is that it lifts the bike so that the wheels are no longer in contact with the road. This means that if you try to accelerate when the stand is active, it will not work.
Backfire
Backfiring is a phenomenon in which you can see the flames coming out of the exhaust port of the vehicle. This usually occurs when the explosion produced by the internal combustion engine occurs in the exhaust system. In this game, you can also Backfire by Shifting gears when accelerating.
Another method for Backfiring involves using Upshift. For this, turn off the gas to the bike and simply Upshift whenever the rev reaches its maximum point. This allows for more sustained Backfires making your ride look cool.
