You’re close to the end-game, trying your best to get your equipment up to par and gearing up for that final battle but you can’t, for the life of you, find the Smithing Stone required to do your final upgrades.

Upgrading equipment in Elden Ring is a monumental task on it’s own, doubly so for rare weapons.

Luckily, you can buy off the Smithing Stones needed for this particular endeavor, but where do we get them?

Somberstone Miner’s Bell Bearing 5 Locations

The item you need to upgrade most of the Legendary Weapons in later states is the Somber Smithing Stone 9 that you can access from the Twin Maiden Husk shop. It’s not accessible at first since you would need to retrieve Bell Bearings from different sources to “upgrade” the items you can buy from their shop.

This proves the same for the Somber Smithing Stone (9) that you can buy from them.  For this matter, you will need the Somberstone Miner’s Bell Bearing (5) which you can get in the Crumbling Farum Azula before the Beside the Great Bridge Site of Grace.

You can get to the Bell Bearing in two ways:

  • The easiest path would be from the Beside the Great Bridge Site of Grace. Take the elevator back down then just go through every right turn possible, it will be on a corpse next to an altar at the very end of the road.
  • If you’re coming from the Dragon Temple Rooftop Site of Grace, you’d need to drop down to the red rooftops and head eastward.  Dodge a few birds moving south when you encounter them and run straight to the dragon

From the dragon, move west and run across the columns of the broken down build piece.  Head into the building, in front of the beast by the altar will be the Bell Bearing.

Turning the Bell Bearing over to the Twin Husk Maidens at the Roundtable Hold will unlock the Somber Smithing Stone (9) for you to buy for 25000 runes.
