Blasphemous 2 is a recently released side-scrolling game that allows players to explore the nightmare world of Cvstodia. It is one of the few games released in the Metriodvania genre that focuses on platforming games and non-linear progression.
In such games, health is one of the core elements that determines how long you can stay alive. With this in mind, this guide will focus on how to get the secret health upgrades in the game using the chalice.
How To Get Secret Health Upgrade
The first step is to locate the NPC that allows you to increase your health and the number of flasks that your character can carry. This NPC can be found in the City of the Blessed Name, as shown on the map image below.
The appearance of the NPC depends on how many upgrades you have. Upgrades require giving the NPC a Receptacle, Shard or Chalice. However, before offering these items to the NPC, you should always interact with the Chalice, as shown in the image below.
Interacting with the Chalice will prompt you to make a sacrifice. Do this, and your character will essentially fill the chalice with blood, allowing you to get additional health upgrades.
It is important that all the upgrades are obtained while the Chalice is full. If not done correctly, you won’t be able to get maximum health.
Once you have given the NPC every Shard, Chalice, and Receptacle while the Chalice was full, simply leave the room and enter it again.
You should see a Red Skeleton of the NPC indicating that all the upgrades have been completed. To get the secret upgrades, simply offer a sacrifice to the Chalice, and this will grant you more health.
