Fae Farm provides you with numerous options of expanding and growing your farm. You can cultivate and craft a number of crops and soils that you will need to ensure the success of your land. There are various recipes in the game that will allow you to craft items needed for farming.
However, each of them require certain ingredients which can be difficult to locate. This includes Mulch, which many players seem to have trouble locating. In this guide, we will show you where you can find Mulch, and the requirements for digging it out.
Where To Find Mulch
The process of finding mulch will require you to do a fair bit of travel while having the necessary upgraded equipment to harvest it. Here are the steps you need to follow to find Mulch:
- Start by traveling to the Spooky Woods in the east of the World Map.
- Make sure you have the right upgraded shovel. Without this, you cannot dig up the Mulch.
- Explore the area and look for brown mounds of Mulch. Make sure you don’t linger in the Miasma too long to avoid its effect bar filling up.
- Dig up the mounds to obtain Mulch.
- Return to the homestead with the unearthed Mulch and craft recipes with it.

Travel to the Spooky Woods
Your journey for finding Mulch starts with going towards the Spooky Woods in the east. Don’t worry if you do not see the area on the World Map. It simply means you need to continue playing the game until you unlock the area. Once you see the Spooky Woods on your map, head towards it.
Have the Right Equipment
Before you go to the Spooky Woods, you want to be equipped with the right tools. The Mulch will need to be dug up which means you will need a shovel. However, any ordinary shovel will not work.
This shovel will need to be upgraded to at least Copper before you can do so. You can obtain a Copper shovel from the Saltwater Mines. Once you have the shovel, make your way towards the Spooky Woods.
Locate Mulch Mounds
Once you enter the Spooky Woods, you will be greeted with haunting music and the cheery vibe you were used to will disappear. Keep calm, as you will not need to spend much time here before you are back to the safety of the rest of the world.
Start by locating brown mounds on the ground. You will most likely find them in the sickly green wisps of Miasma fog that are scattered all around the Spooky Woods area. Try to avoid entering these clouds until you are ready to dig.
Dig Up The Mounds
When you are ready to dig, approach the mounds and interact with them. If you have the right shovel, you will be able to dig these up with ease and obtain the Mulch. However, as you enter the sickly green clouds, you will notice the Miasma effect start to take hold.
This bar does take time to fill up so you should have plenty of time before it becomes active. As you dig up the mounds, make sure to keep an eye on the bar to ensure you are within the limit. When you leave the cloud, the bar will start to decrease.
So, we recommend entering the cloud to dig and then leaving it to let the bar go down before entering another cloud to dig up Mulch.
Leave the Area and Craft Recipes
Once you’re done harvesting Mulch, you can return to your homestead. You won’t be missing that haunting music anytime soon! Once you return, you can start working on recipes which require Mulch.
For starters, you can craft Flower Soil Beds which require 1x Mulch and use them to start growing flowers on your farm. You can even use Mulch to craft all kinds of fertilizers which can help boost your crop growth and even transform the variety of the crop.
