There are some really unique heists in Payday 3 that challenge players by providing them with some different challenges that they must surpass. The Dirty Ice Mission is one such heist which has you navigating a luxury jewelry story to bag the loot inside.
There is one point in this heist where you will need to access the Workshop to further the heist and take out the alarm system. However, players generally try a lot but can’t seem to hack this area no matter what they do. In this guide, we will show you how you can access it.
How to Open Jewelry Workshop Door in Dirty Ice Mission in Payday 3
The process of opening the jewelry is pretty straightforward but comes from an unlikely source within the store itself. Here are the steps to follow:
- Progress through the Dirty Ice Mission until you have control of the Office, VIP Room and the main storefront area.
- Exit the VIP Room and locate the Manager. Her picture will be on the pillar in the form of an Employee of the Month frame and you can locate her nearby.
- Grab her as a human shield and bring her in front of the Jewelry Workshop control panel.
- Shove her into the control panel and she will automatically get to work on opening it. Within a few seconds, you will have access to the door.
- Tie her up again as you will need her later in the heist.

Detailed Walkthrough
To open the Jewelry Workshop Door, you will need to have progressed about halfway through the Dirty Ice Mission.
This means that you should have taken control of the Office Area, the VIP area and ideally, the main jewelry front section of the store.
It is likely that at this point, the authorities will have been alerted and you will have access to a wide variety of hostages. Time will be short, so you should move as quickly as possible.
Starting off, head to the VIP room where the locked Jewelry Workshop Door will be. Turn around and open the door that is on your right.
This leads to the front section of the jewelry store. In front of you, there will be a large pillar with an Employee of the Month frame of a lady.
This lady is actually the Manager of the store. She is generally roaming around the front section, and you may even find her next to the pillar.
She is easy to spot since she will have the same recognizable face and will be wearing a blue suit and tie.
Approach the Manager and you will see the option Take Human Shield. This will allow you to grasp her, and you can ‘guide’ her this way back into the VIP section of the store.
After that, take her to the door of the Jewelry Workshop Door and stand in front of the Control Panel next to it.
Press the Shove button that you can see on the right side of the screen and your character will push her into this control panel.
She will understand immediately that you are threatening her to open it and she will get to doing exactly that.
After a few seconds, she will have opened the door and you can access the Jewelry Workshop section of the store. It is likely that authorities will have been alerted to your threat and you will need to move quickly before all hell breaks down on you.
Make sure that you keep her around and use the Tie up hands option on her. This is because you will likely need her later on in the heist and it is helpful to keep her handy when the need arises.
