All 6 Abbasiyah Gear Chest Locations
There’s a total of 6 Gear Chests located in Abbasiyah. I’ll provide step-by-step instructions and directions on how to reach each chest.

Location # 1 The Four Markets
To access the first Gear Chest, make your way to The Four Markets. However, to reach the chest, you must first obtain a key. Start by following the instructions below.
Upon your arrival, activate Eagle Eye to locate your target. Head upstairs to the designated area.
Inside this area, you’ll spot an NPC carrying the key standing near a window. Pickpocket the key and proceed downstairs.
Now that you possess the key, it’s time to navigate to the Gear Chest. Follow the directions provided in the guide.
From the street, make your way south and turn right at the arch shown in the image below.
Then, make a left towards another arch shown in the image.
After that, turn right at a smaller arch, leading to an open area.
Now, look to your left and locate the door depicted in the image below. You’ll need to use the key you pickpocketed earlier to enter.
Initially, you must unbar this door, which will lead to the location of the Gear Chest. However, before proceeding, inspect the room for two fire lamps.
Retrieve these lamps as you’ll need them to clear the path to the Gear Chest. Pick up the first lamp and head towards the door you’ve just unbarred.
Now, turn right and continue straight until you reach a set of rocks. Toss the fire lamp into them to clear your path.
Next, return to the room and pick up the second fire lamp. Proceed inside the path you’ve opened earlier and throw the lamp at the rocks on the ceiling.
To access the newly opened area, pull and use the shelf located on the right side of the room.
Climb the shelf to reach your destination, and there you have it! That’s the first Gear Chest location which contains the Zanj Uprising Dagger.
Location # 2 Scholar’s Estate
Up next, we have the Scholar’s Estate Gear Chest. For this one, we’ll have to find a key first. You may refer to the image below for the exact locations.
For instructions and directions, read further into the guide.
Use your Eagle Eye to reveal the location of the Gear Chest. Then, wrap around and make your way south until you reach this location shown in the image below.
You’ll have to climb up this ladder to proceed.
Then, go across this tightrope to reach the house where the key is located. Make your way down and go inside the door next to the ladder.
Inside, look to your left and pick up the key on the table.
Next, go to the opposite side of entrance and unbar the door.
Outside, use your Eagle Eye and you’ll see the Gear Chest’s location. In order to reach the chest, go across into the building.
You’ll have to smash this window open to go inside.
Then, look to your left and you’ll see shelves. You’ll have to pull the shelf that is next to the divider as shown in the image below.
Then, go around and you’ll see the second Gear Chest location which contains the Abbasid Knight Sword.
Location # 3 Hammam
Next up, our destination is the Hammam Gear Chest.
If you prefer, you may enter from the inside by following this map image below. You’ll have to unbar a door to enter the room.
However, I highly recommend beginning at this location, as it provides the most straightforward path to the Gear Chest.
Upon arriving at the location, proceed forward and then turn right towards the side of the building, as indicated in the image below.
Break the window and enter the building.
Now, on the right side of the room, you’ll notice some jars and a shelf. Smash the jars to reveal the pathway.
Next, pull the shelf to open the door you’ll need to pass through.
Then, pick up a fire lamp located in the middle of the room and proceed through the door you’ve just opened.
Turn left and continue straight until you come across rocks located both on your left and on the right side of the building.
To progress, throw the fire lamp you’ve picked up earlier to open the door and enter.
After that, enter the left room, and there you have it. That’s the third Gear Chest location which contains the Zanj Uprising Dagger.
Location # 4 Scriptorium
Up next, we have the Scriptorium Gear Chest. Just a heads up, this is a restricted area, so proceed with caution.
After locating the Gear Chest location. Make your way to the rooftop area of the building. I recommend going up through the boxes on the right side.
Once you’ve made your way up, look for the pillar on your left and right across you’ll see this balcony shown in the image below.
Jump down and make your way inside.
To your right, you’ll see the fourth Gear Chest location which contains the Abbasid Knight Sword.
Location # 5 House of Wisdom
Next, we have the House of Wisdom Gear Chest. For this one, we’ll have a key as well. And be careful as this will be a restricted area.
After arriving at the location, make your way to the rooftop area as shown in the image below.
From here, climb up once again to the building on your right.
Then, to your left, you’ll see this NPC carrying the key you’ll need. Pickpocket the key to proceed.
From the NPC’s location, go straight and look towards the building on your left. Jump down to that building.
Then, look to your right and you’ll have to use this lift as shown in the image.
After making your way up, look for this window as shown in the image below. Then, throw your knife to the chandelier.
After that, make your down to the building containing the Gear Chest. You may use your Eagle Eye to make sure.
Then, to your right, look for the door that you can unlock with the key you pickpocketed from the NPC.
From there, it’s pretty much linear. Make your way up the flight of stairs until you reach the Gear Chest. This loot chest contains the Abbasid Knight Sword as well.
Location # 6 The Great Bimaristan
Lastly, we have the The Great Bimaristan Gear Chest. I recommend using the designated starting point depicted in the image below.
Starting from this point, navigate your way up to the rooftop area. Please be aware that this is a restricted area, so proceed with caution.
After making your way up, turn to your left and again, go up these boxes, leading to the tower-like square house.
Now, head to your right, and you’ll come across a window resembling the one in the image below. Looking through this window, you’ll spot a lock that needs to be destroyed to proceed.
In order to do this, position yourself on the ledge of the building for a better angle, and throw your knife at the lock to destroy it.
Next, circle around, and you’ll find the door. Enter and head to the right side of the house.
Here, you’ll encounter a shelf that you must pull back to unveil the path leading to the Gear Chest.
Navigate around and follow the pathway you’ve just uncovered. There you have it! That’s the sixth Gear Chest location which contains the Zanj Uprising Dagger.
