So, you might have heard that it’s possible to build a Solar Panel Farm in The Front. Yep, you heard right. Setting them up is incredibly useful for mid and late game stages, especially when you require a substantial amount of power.
Relying only on crude oil can be quite inefficient, considering you need it for various purposes, like crafting polymer and certain vehicles. You don’t want to squander it all on powering your base. That’s why in this guide, I’ll show you how to setup your very own Solar Panel Farm.
How To Setup A Solar Panel Farm
To get started, head to the Tech tree and navigate down to the Tech section. Follow the Metal Processor line all the way up to the Solar Generator.
Now, here are the things that you will/may need:
- Solar panels
- Solar generators
- Electrical equipment
- Components for the bike generator, including the:
- Circuit breaker
- Splitter
- Coupler
Place your solar panels, and you can determine the quantity based on your power needs. Experiment with different placements and orientations, as it doesn’t seem to affect the power output. Just make sure they’re not in a dark spot like a cave.
Now, the magic happens with the coupler. This handy device combines three currents of electricity into one. Connect the outputs of your solar generators to the inputs of the couplers, which makes an efficient power integration.
From there, link the couplers to a single power line, and connect it to your desired power destination, such as a lead-acid battery cluster.
For added control, you can insert a circuit breaker in the line to toggle the power on and off. This way, you can conserve energy when needed.
It’s a simple setup that can keep your base running efficiently while you accumulate enough energy for your endeavors.
