Ib: All Endings & How To Get Them

Talking about Ib would make a lot of people dive down into a sense of nostalgia, as it’s one of the forerunners when it came to the RPG maker horror phase in the 2010s.  I myself got into playing more of these indie creations when I first came across it.  It gives the player a different kind of fear that some AAA horror games just can’t replace and we are very glad to hear that the remake is well on its way.

In this guide, we’ll give you a brief introduction of all the endings and how to get each of them.

All Endings & How To Get Them – Ib

There are a total of seven endings from the old game that should appear in the remaster as well as the creators mentioned this will only be a graphic update much like what Mad Father had gotten.  Out of the endings, only one is considered the true and happy ending while the rest are left to the imagination of the player or are straight up just bad.

Promise of Reunion

For this ending, Ib must have enough bond points (obtained through choosing correct choices at certain points in the game) to unlock the option to have Ib hand her handkerchief to Garry after a certain plot point in the game.   After doing so and getting back to the real world, you would need to look for the Embodiment of Spirit exhibit which would look like a giant rose.  The cutscene for the good ending will appear after interacting with this exhibit.

You will know if you got the correct ending by the text at the bottom of the screen that will show you the title of the ending.

Memory’s Crannies

Similar to Promise of Reunion, Memory’s Crannies plays almost the same way except Ib will not have a chance to give her handkerchief to Garry.  If you choose to go to the real world with Garry without doing this and go to the Embodiment of Spirit exhibit, then the cutscene from Promise of Reunion will still play, but this time, Garry will not remember Ib.

Ib All Alone

Ib All Alone has four variations.

Variation 1

Ib will have to choose to follow Fake Mother through the cursed gallery instead of jumping into the Fabricated World with Garry.  Afterwards, the mother will disappear and Ib is left to wander the fake world in a trance forever.

Variation 2

After Garry dies, Ib can retrieve his lighter and it is needed before she continues on.  She needs to then eat the candy Garry gave her and burn Mary’s painting with the lighter.  When she reaches the portal to the real world, a fake Garry will appear and if she chooses to follow him, the Ib All Alone ending will appear on screen.

Variation 3

You can get the third variant of this ending if you choose to step away from the Fabricated World ending instead of going through it.

Variation 4

In the Dungeon area, if you choose to sleep on Final Stage, Ib will have a dream of her last birthday before she goes to the art exhibit.  If she continues to sleep till the end, she won’t be able to wake up again.

Forgotten Portrait

You can unlock this ending by going to the painting of the Hanged Man.   It should be replaced by a portrait of Garry sleeping and is now called Forgotten Portrait

Together, Forever

Go to the White House in the Pink House area and walk inside, you will be able to see a Toy Box in the room.  Interact with it and a small cutscene will play where Mary will push both Ib and Garry into the box.  Ib will wake up to find her rose has gone along with Garry.   Walking around the room should quickly find him and he notices how pale Ib looks most likely because she lost her rose.

Before moving along, Ib must pick up a pink key south of where you found Garry and then it would show Mary holding Ib’s rose.  The characters would try to bargain with her and you must agree with Garry.  When the choice comes up, choose Garry, and Mary will exchange his rose for Ib’s.

After a few dialogue options, the room will start to shake and Ib must run to the stairs to escape the dolls that are trying to kill her.   Garry will at some point collapse during the chase and you’ll be given an option to take his lighter.  Do not take it and leave.

Return to the pink house and unlock the door with the key, head to the Fabricated World painting and jump into it.  Make your way to the reception desk and a cutscene will appear.  Mary will be with Ib’s parents, taking place of Garry’s existence and becoming her sister.  A few more cutscenes will appear to close out this ending.

Welcome to the World of Guertena

One of the bad endings in the game requires you to fail the Doll Room with Garry, Mary will hear him talking behind the blue door.  Once Ib tries to approach the door, you can go in or walk away, walking away will give you a nameless bad ending so in this case, you’d need to go in.

A series of cutscenes will take place wherein it ends with Ib and Garry trapped in the painting forever, souls seemingly lost as they hang lifeless in Mary’s pretend tea party.

A Painting’s Demise

If Garry’s doom counter is fulfilled and you get less than 4 bond points with Mary, this ending will occur.  The same cutscene will take place as in the World of Guertena ending only that it will switch to Mary’s POV once Ib decides to stay with Garry in the doll room.  You will then have full control of Mary and the first thing you should do is go to the place with the headless statue to ask it to move out of the way.

She would then find the Fabricated World ending and jump into it.  Mary will be transported to the other side alone but the walls will start getting texts that would warn her to go back and stay inside.

Cutscenes of the ending will play at this point and there is no turning back, as per the ending’s title, one can only imagine what this ending entailed for Mary herself.

That’s all the endings from the world of Ib.  Make sure to play the remake when it becomes available globally!
