Alan Wake 2 has many mysteries to discover as you progress through the game’s storyline. After you complete one goal, a new one will pop up, guiding you toward the next objectives. On completing these smaller goals, you’ll gather new information to help you solve cases you need to work with.
‘Interpret the Page’s Meaning’ is one of the objectives you may get stuck on due to how complicated it can be. When you try to achieve this goal, you will likely face many other enemies as well. In this guide, we will show you how you can Interpret the Page’s Meaning in Alan Wake 2.
Interpret the Page’s Meaning
As you investigate and gather more information in Cauldron Lake, you’ll run into the Witch Sign. The Witch Sign is located to the South of the Witch’s Hut.
Once you get there, you will see a page on the wall, and the game’s objective telling you to interpret the page’s meaning.
Next, look to the right and you will see that there have been some new question marks added to your map.
To find more information, you’ll then want to head towards the General Store. Remember to open up your map frequently so you do not get lost as you navigate yourself there.
Head inside the store and explore a little bit. From inside the store, you’ll then see a deer that runs outside, which can be quite sudden.
After that, a Cult of the Tree member will spawn, trying to attack you. To defeat them, toggle Flashlight Boost to burn through the darkness surrounding him. Then, give him a couple of headshots and you should be able to take him down.
Once you have successfully defeated the cultist, you can continue searching inside the store for more items.
Pick up everything you can as you discover every corner of the store. There is also a case with the shotgun, which you can unlock by using the code 739.
On the floor, you will also be able to find a manuscript, which you must collect. The manuscript can be found on the ground, so keep searching the floor nearby. This manuscript page can be useful for you as you go into the Mind Place later.
Then, go to the Mind Place, doing this will give you access to the case board. Then, go to your cases and find ‘Cauldron Lake Murders‘.
Pull up the case and put it on your case board. You’ll also want to open up the ‘Murder At Cauldron Lake‘ case. The game will then automatically place down hints for you for this case file.
You also have a page about the Cauldron Lake Witch’s Hut. Place that on the case board as well. Then, go back and look for the manuscript pages you found earlier in your inventory.
Then, put in the two manuscript pages. The ‘What is the ritual?‘ question will turn green. For your next objective, you will need to find Nightingale’s Heart. You’ll also gain some information about how the ritual is performed.
In your Profiling tab, select Nightingale’s profile. After that, you should be able to see a ‘The Heart‘ option which you can select.
Then, you’ll also unlock another option, which is ‘The Heart! Where is it?‘. You will then find that Nightingale’s Heart is in the General Store, inside a fridge.
To the left of the room, you will be able to find a fridge. Next, press the key that lets you Burn Away the Darkness.
Then, go up to the refrigerator and press the key to collect the Heart. You will then receive another clue on the left side of your screen.
After that, go to your case board. Place down the Heart clue and the card will turn green. This will give you the information regarding the words on the Heart.
Then, place the other clue about the Heart’s location, which is ‘The heart is somewhere in the general store‘.
After all of that, use your map and head towards the Witch’s Ladle sign. You will then head towards a flooded area.
There will be a small area with a lot of lights, which will allow you to protect yourself as you stand in it. You can use this as your safe spot.
Once you step out of the lights, there will be two enemies that you need to fight. As you fight them, you can use your flashlight to burn away the darkness. Then, try to land as many headshots as you can to defeat them without losing too much ammo.
After that, you’ll be able to continue making your way towards the Witch’s Ladle sign. There, you will be able to see a prompt that lets you interact with the hole in the middle. Interacting will let your character put in Nightingale’s Heart, and the cutscene will start.
