There is a new game out there that is filled with mystery and horror and that’s Alan Wake 2. The game focuses on solving a case that requires you to look around and search for clues. From talking to potential suspects to looking around for physical clues, there is a lot to search for in this game. Sometimes, it can be a bit tricky to find certain clues though.
In this guide, we’ll show you how we can check for the heart in the General Store. The place is a bit of a dump and it’s surprisingly easy to miss where that heart is. Now, let’s see where we can find it!
Check the General Store for the Heart
At one point in the game, you’ll be tasked to go to the General Store and look for the heart. This is in the part of the story where you have to track Nightingale at Cauldron Lake.
To do this, you’ll need to perform the ritual and for that, you’ll need to find the heart.
When you get to the General Store, go to the very back of the store and you’ll find a freezer on the left side.
There, you’ll find the heart. But to take and inspect it, you’ll need to use the Flashlight Boost in the freezer. That’s because the freezer has some dark substance on top of it.
To remove the substance, you can use the R1 button on your controller or the mouse wheel for the PC to do the Flashlight Boost.
The timing can be a bit funky, so make sure to point the beam of light on top of the freezer instead of in the middle.
Once the dark substance on the freezer is gone, you can then walk up to it and interact with it. You’ll see the heart on the bottom of the freezer, and you can collect it.
When you try to select the heart, a clue will be added to your Mind Place. You go there and connect it to the Case Board.
Once you collect the heart, a short cutscene will play and that would be the end of that part of the objective.
