Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 recently came out and boasts an extensive multiplayer mode and a continuation of the previous game’s story in the single player campaign. With that came a whole bunch of achievements for completionists to sink their teeth into, and one of those is “Elevator Out of Order.” So, how do you get it?
Elevator Out of Order Trophy Guide
This achievement requires you to reach the roof of the “Highrise” mission in just under 45 seconds. This is a daunting task if you have no idea what to do, thankfully, there’s a way to do so that will require at least two runs of the mission.
It is a fairly linear level with no chance of you getting lost, so we’ll try to get you through the steps as quickly as possible. Watch out for enemies along the way, as they can block your path.
First of all, when you begin the mission, rush up the two ladders at the start of the level. From here, turn left and mow through all the enemies until you get up the stairs.
From there, you’ll turn right and go through another linear corridor full of enemies. You’ll eventually reach a window that you can climb out of. Get through it and ascend through the path to the right.
After navigating through a bit of scaffolding, you’ll be able to enter a window to your left. Upon entering the window, immediately jump on the object in front of you so that you can quickly reach the upper floor.
Once you climb up the upper area, run to the right, then take another right at the end of the corridor. You’ll find a small room here with laser tripwires. Climb the yellow ladder and jump out of the window in the room you’ll find yourself in.
Follow the path up to the next open window marked by yellow tarps. From here, climb up the stairs and take a right. Gaz should note that he’s now on the eleventh floor.
Run straight to the end of the corridor and go through the broken wall to your right. Kill any enemies you encounter as they’ll start pouring out of the opening, blocking the way.
Once you get through, run to the left and exit through the doorway to the right. In this room, run to the left and go through the door. You should then follow the corridor until you reach the box with the ascender in it.
This may sound weird, but after picking up the ascender, restart the mission. Upon doing so, you’ll immediately realize that there are now ziplines scattered throughout parts of the level.
Rather than going up the ladders, ascend using the zipline that has now appeared in front of them. Proceed through the corridor as you did earlier, but instead of ascending the stairs at the end, take the next zipline up.
Upon reaching the top, there will be another rope in front of you leading out through the window. Use it and proceed through the scaffolding, then take one last zipline to your objective.
After that, you’ve done it! You should get a notification that you’ve unlocked the “Elevator Out of Order” trophy. There are more trophies to get in the game, so keep on grinding!
