Secrets are meant to be dug up eventually, and that’s what you’ll be doing in Genshin Impact’s Foggy Forest Path quest. The problem with this quest is that all of the objectives are scattered, leaving you to figure out how to put two and two together.
An even bigger problem is figuring out how the quest actually starts. We’ll get that one out of the way first to try and keep things simple. Check out the rest of the guide below once you get to the new area next to Fontaine to get started!
Foggy Forest Path World Quest Guide
To unlock the Foggy Forest Path World quest, you need to head over to Marcotte Station. You can either take the waterline going east or simply teleport there.
Once you’re at the station, look for a stone tablet around one of the fountains. This will trigger a cutscene that will start the Foggy Forest Path Quest.
Follow the marker on your map to get to the stone altar inside of the Erinnyes Forest. You can follow the path south of the Fountain of Lucine and head east once you run out of road.
Eventually, you’ll see a giant glowing tree and the mysterious altar underneath it.
Finish the dialogue with Paimon next to the altar and you’ll be tasked with Revealing the altar’s secrets next.
To do this, you need to solve three Harmonious Reeds puzzles. All puzzles can be found near the altar, so you won’t be going far.
You can find the first puzzle by going north of the altar. Remove the Contaminated Bacterial Mats to free the Dew Branch.
You can do the Harmonious Reeds puzzles once you clear the enemies nearby and activated the Dew Branch. Once you get the Dew Bubble out, you need to push it until it’s in the middle of the Harmonious Reeds.
Pop the bubble and the tree will show one glowing orb. You need to repeat this process for the second puzzle nearby. Find the waterfall to the northwest to find the next set of Harmonious Reeds.
The third puzzle is southeast of the altar. Follow the river before it empties into the ocean, and you’ll find another set of Harmonious Reeds.
Clear the bacterial mats again to activate the dew branch. The reeds are awkwardly placed from each other, so you’ll have to pop two more dew bubbles to activate them.
You can pop one and wait for the radius to reach the second bubble. Popping both at the same time is also an option. After that you can head back to the altar.
That’s how you finish the Foggy Forest Path World Quest in Genshin Impact. You’ll get another cutscene once you get back to the altar and get a Teardrop key. The game will also prompt you to do the Wilting Weeping Willow quest next.
