In Genshin Impact, many of the hundreds of quests often give you a general area to search for something or someone instead of pointing out where they are exactly. Sometimes, these things or NPCs you’ll need to find can be tricky to look for. Oftentimes, the area is so large that it might take you a while to find these things!
In this guide, we’ll show you where you can find Covault, an NPC needed for one of the quests in the game. Now, let’s see where we can find this NPC!
Covault Location | An Unexpected Plan
At one point, in the quest An Unexpected Plan, you’ll find yourself in the Area of the Rusty Rudder. You’ll have to find Covault and are given the general area where you can find him. To continue the quest, you’ll need to go to the side of the ship and head up the stairs as shown below.

Once you’re up there, look for the NPC Pitot which is wearing some diving suit. Talk to that person and select the choice, “Have you seen a guy called Covault?”
He’ll point you to the right area where he is and the circle on the minimap will be smaller.
Now, go to the right of where Pitot is down the ramp and onto the grass. To the right of the ramp near a tree is where you can find Covault.
Talk to him and a fight will ensue where you’ll need to subdue him. Once that’s done, you can then continue with the quest!
