Genshin Impact: All 28 Morte Region Hydroculus Location

Morte Region in Genshin Impact hides many secrets behind the otherwise peaceful lush forest and we’re going to reveal some of that in this Hydroculus hunt. There’s a total of 28 of them and possible spoilers for the World Quest involving Caterpillar and the Narzissenkreuz Ordo, so read on with caution! For Erinnyes Forest Hydroculus, see our guide on that for all 38 of them.

Morte Region Hydroculus Location (28)

There’s a total of 28 Hydroculus in this region, a majority of them easily linked to or locked behind the Search in the Algae Sea World Quest. Here we go.

1. We start from the East Slopes of Mont Automnequi with an easy Hydroculus on the peak behind a Fatui camp.

2. Glide south towards the Waverider Waypoint and you’re going to see a Hydroculus ping. It’s right on the cave entrance between the canons. You’re also bound to head here for the seals while doing the Search in the Algae Sea World Quest to get the Nymph’s Constancy.

3. We suggest picking up the mentioned World Quest. Continue exploring the area by diving into the water and finishing the puzzle to enter the ruins.

To your left is a Hydroculus that you can get after going through the Looking Glass, that’ll teleport you to the other side. We suggest using this method. Otherwise, you can manually use the lift. This is also where you can get the Special Key.

4. Time to head underwater. Directly west to the Tower is a Hydroculus that’s easy to see near the surface. It’s right under the arch next to the reed pipe puzzle.

5. Close to the previous one. Swim deeper and you’ll see it in a mini trench near the clam shells.

6. Teleport to the north of Mount Automnequi and look north. The Hydroculus is below the floating debris. Head to the east end point of the island for the next one.

7. As you float down from the previous Hydroculus position, you’ll slowly see the jellyfish in the ruins.

8. Keep gliding to the east to the Statue of the Seven on the small isle. On the mouth of the entrance is the Hydroculus that’s easy to grab.

9. Dive underwater to the south of this island. There’s a puzzle utilizing the Xenochromatic power to balance the Water Volume Detection Crystals. Balance them using the valve until you can trigger them all on at the same time and get a Precious chest. You can also swim to get the Hydroculus afterward.

10. Swim a bit to the west towards the Waypoint. You would’ve had this one if you were doing to the Search in the Algae Sea World Quest on your way out of this particular ruin.

11. While doing the Orthant’s Puzzle here, you’ll be able to get the Hydroculus in one of the lifts, just hiding behind the machine.

12. The other one is locked away with a chest. Take a trip through the Looking Glass, kill all the Rifthounds, and then you’ll pop out on the other side.

13. After you’re done here, teleport to the ruins south of the Tower. At the mouth of the entrance of the ruins, there’s the Hydroculus free to take.

14. Now swim towards the ruins in the east. But before you reach there, one Hydroculus is under the arch.

15. This one is almost on the same spot with the 14th Hydroculus. Just swim deeper near the ruins and then you’ll find it under the puzzle.

16. Just slightly past the ruins to the east is a rock formation that you can break for another Hydroculus.

17. Once more, teleport to the south of Fort Charybdis Ruins and head to the cave entrance east of the island. This is the entrance leading to the underground ruins with the Orthant’s puzzle for Search in the Algae Sea World Quest.

18. Enter the Fort of Charybdis ruins. Again, this is part of the Search in the Algae Sea World Quest. As you explore the area, you’re going to get that one Hydroculus ping you can’t find.

That’s because it’s right on top of the gear here. Use the moving gear to reach the top. Don’t worry, there’s going to be a wind current that keeps you floating.

19. You might have gotten this while solving the puzzle here. Drop to the bottom-most section of the room to the underwater area and clear the enemies. That’s where you’ll find the other Hydroculus with overlapping ping as the previous one.

20. Teleport to Waypoint in the south of Fort Charybdis Ruins. Your 19th Hydroculus is on the floating debris here. Use the jellyfish to jump and then grab it.

21. The 20th is just south of this one. It’s very close to the water surface and easy to spot.

22. Teleport again to the south of Fort Charybdis Ruins and then glide southeast to this peak here. That’s where your next Hydroculus is.

23. Keep gliding southeast from here and you’ll see a group of hilichurls surrounding the jellyfish. The Hydroculus is above the jellyfish.

24. Use the Waverider or just walk to the other end of the cave to find another Hydroculus.

25. Next, head to the middle of Fort Charybdis Ruins island. Finish the time trial challenge and it’ll reveal a current upward.

26. Head to the north of Fort Charybdis Ruins and finish the puzzle. It will create a wind current that you can then ride to get this Hydroculus.

27. Jump into the water just north of you. There’s going to be another Hydroculus inside the shipwreck that’s immediately to your right.

28. Head to the island where the Tower of Ipssissimus is. There’s going to be a current that you can ride that will shoot you nearly to the top. You’ll be able to see the Hydroculus on top and you can climb up to get it. If you already finish the whole quest, don’t worry. Just teleport back to the Waypoint near the Tower of Ipsissimus and there’s going to be a ship to take you up there. This is also in line with Farewell, Mr. Eliphas hidden achievement.

And that’s all the Hydroculus for Morte Region in Genshin Impact!
