Update 4.2 has added a bunch of new content to Genshin Impact. This includes new areas which players can explore and find these additions scattered all around. While exploration is certainly really cool, many players are interested in the combat, and fighting the new Mini Bosses. Mini Bosses tend to be added as part of all updates to the game.
Thankfully, there are a bunch of mini bosses that players can battle in the new update. In this guide, we will show you all the locations of the mini bosses in the Fontaine area after the update. Now, you can battle or farm these bosses to get their unique rewards. Let’s dive in and see where you can find them!
All Fontaine 4.2 Mini Boss Locations
There are a total of 5 Mini Bosses that you can find in the Fontaine area after Update 4.2. Some of these Mini Bosses have certain quest requirements and we will highlight them when showing their locations. Defeating these mini bosses even leads to rewards, so the effort is highly recommended.

Mini Boss Location #1 – Chassanion
The first mini boss is Chassanion and it can be located in the underwater section of the map. You will not be able to access this area immediately, as it is part of the Search in the Algae Sea Quest.
When you are in the underwater section, make your way towards the Tower of Ipsissimus area. When you are near the tower, head towards the center.
When you reach the center, you will get the Enter option. Select this option and you will teleport to a new area.
When you reach the new area, make your way out of the doorway. After getting past the banister, dive down.
There are some stairs underwater and you can follow these stairs down. Eventually, the stairs will end and you can turn right through a doorway.
This will lead to a large underwater chamber. Enter this chamber and the miniboss will appear. This is the Chassanion Mini Boss. Now you can battle the boss and defeat it to get some great rewards!
Mini Boss Location #2 – Deianeira of Snezhevna
The second Mini Boss can actually be located relatively close to the first one. This is Deianeira of Snezhevna and she can be located near the following location shown on the map below. Keep in mind that this Mini Boss is part of the An Expected Lie quest.
There is a glowing doorway here, which is actually next to the Tower of Ipsissimus. Swim towards the doorway and enter inside.
Go through this doorway and you will find yourself inside some hallways on dry land. Follow the straightforward hallways until you enter a large chamber.
Glide towards this chamber and you can see the Mini Boss walking at the bottom of this chamber.
You can actually even get a sneaky hit here by doing a ground slam with your character. She is quite a tanky boss so be prepared to bring your A-game before you decide to start fighting her.
Mini Boss Location #3 – Liam
The next Mini Boss is Liam and he can be located in the location shown below on the map. Thankfully, there are no quest requirements when facing this boss.
Start by heading towards the doorway shown below. You can recognize this doorway by the enemy that is standing nearby. This doorway marks the area where the Liam boss will be standing.
When you go towards the doorway, you should see Liam standing in a small field waiting to face you. Immediately hit him when you are near him to get an advantage as you start the Mini Boss fight.
Mini Boss Location #4 – Rocky Avildsen
The fourth Mini Boss can be located in the following location on the map below. This is Rocky Avildsen and he is pretty straightforward to locate, especially since there are no quest requirements for him either.
Make your way to this location and you should see a small house here. In front of this house, there is a wooden deck and he will be standing there. You can approach him to start the Mini Boss fight.
Mini Boss Location #5 – Mageblade Corrouge
The final Mini Boss can be located in one of the underwater sections of Fontaine. You can find this Mini Boss in the Roots of Erinnyes area. You can access this area as part of the Wild Fairy of Erinnyes Quest.
When you are in this underwater section, make your way towards the large chamber shown in the map below.
You can actually find a Teleport area in this area as well. When you reach this area, make your way towards the large chamber ahead.
When you enter here, the game will indicate that you are in the Roots of Erinnyes area. Swim through the water while keeping a bit towards the left. You can make out the Mini Boss in the distance. It looks like a pink jellyfish.
Approach the boss and it will eventually start the boss fight when you get close. Fighting the Mageblade Corrouge Mini Boss is pretty straightforward, and you will get rewarded with a Chest as a reward.
Congratulations, you have now defeated all the Mini Bosses in Update 4.2 within the Fontaine area.
