Ready Or Not lets you choose between the Solo game mode where you work with your AI teammates and complete missions.
You can also choose to play in online multiplayer game modes where you work with other teammates. Communication is key to your success. As you enter rooms, it is important that everyone knows their role and what they should know.
In this guide, we will show you some of the basic information about team entry and some other tips to help you increase your chances of winning. With more practice later on, you will know how things work.
Team Entry Operations Guide
Room Entry
When you and your teammates are at a door, everyone should stay on one side of the door. If you are in an open area, and you decide to be on the other side, you cannot see what’s behind you.
Since your team already approached from one side, you know that there is nothing behind you.
Before we enter the room, let’s learn about this one way of room entry. In the image below, you will see the Alternating method:
- Alternating is quite simply the process where the entry team members alternate between crossing and hooking or vice versa.
When you have 4 other people on your team beside you, here’s an example of how you can go in:
- First Person: Left
- Second Person: Right
- Third Person: Left
- Fourth Person: Right
As soon as the first person goes in, the second person should go in immediately. This is where communication, training, and coordination are of utmost importance.
Keep practicing room entries with your teammates and you will be better at this.
Once you first walk into the room, here’s a list of priorities for you to know what should be dealt with first:
- Is there a threat? If there is, you should deal with it first.
- Are there any open spaces? If all doors inside the room are closed, there is no open space.
- The closest closed door.
Team Operation – Roles
Your teams can be organized differently depending on what you need.
Unitary Teams
Your team will be working as a single unit. This team layout is incredibly new-player-friendly. However, it may be a little bit slower in terms of movement and less effective in the big picture.
Each person on the Unitary team will be using a different tool or weapon. Here’s an example of roles in a Unitary Team:
- Team Leader: The Leader will lead the team towards completing the objective. Other team members will need to report information to the Leader so he can make the right decision. (Uses Door Wedges)
- Scout: The Scout uses the Optiwand to gather information about a room and report it to the Team Leader.
- Breacher: The Breacher is responsible for breaching locked doors. This role will work with the Scout to make sure throwables are used effectively once the door is opened. (Uses Shotgun/Battering Ram)
- Shield Bearer: This person will be the first person to enter rooms, using his shield to provide cover. He will protect the team and allow the rest of the members to enter safely. (Ballistic Shield)
- Arrest Officer: The Arrest Officer is responsible for securing evidence, detaining persons, and reporting to TOC. In addition, the Arrest Officer provides rear security. (Pepper Spray)
Here’s the order of entry:
- Shield Bearer
- Scout
- Breacher
- Team Leader
- Arrest Officer
Multi-Teams
You will have two 2-man teams and one 1-man commander. The two 2-man teams are usually associated with the red and blue teams. If a teammate is incapacitated, the commander will replace that fallen officer.
This team layout is more suitable for seasoned players. This has the benefit of being faster and more agile in terms of mobility. However, it can be far riskier.
Unlike the Unitary Team, the Multi-Team approach does not require you to bring any definitive, infallible equipment layout. Select equipment with your team members depending on what you need during the planning phase.
That’s how you can start forming a team with your own teammates and go on missions! Proper communication is key to your team’s success.
You should consider being in an online call with your teammates so you can exchange the information more effectively. There are even gaming Discord servers that have voice chat designed only for that!
