Shotguns are the best weapons in any game, period. Second being SMGs. While SMGs get to pollute a body with bullets, shotguns do the same thing, but with much greater force. Shooting someone with a shotgun at point-blank range is a guaranteed kill, no matter what game you’re playing. Unless it’s a boss fight, then you’ll need to put a few more bullets in them. Thankfully, Cycle Frontier has no bosses, so you can freely shoot buckshot into any enemy and either kill them or remove a huge chunk of their health.
Shotgun Weapons Tier List – The Cycle Frontier
Shotguns are powerful no matter what you pick in this game. However, you will need to take into account other factors. Like how fast can it reload? Is it automatic or semi-automatic? Is the recoil too much? We set up a tier list to find out which shotgun is the best to use, and which shotgun is to avoid at all costs.
Shotguns | Tier |
B9 Trenchgun | S |
PKR Maelstrom | B |
Shattergun | B |
The B9 Trenchgun is currently the cheaper and more efficient version of the Shattergun. Not only is it cheap, but it is practically faster to kill using this gun than the Shattergun. It also reloads faster too, which is a major plus when choosing shotguns.
The Maelstrom is basically the Cycle Frontier’s version of an AA-12. This is a semi-automatic shotgun with a drum mag that shoots slugs with a firework-like boom. However, due to some recent nerfs in the game, the Malestrom sits at B due to it being affected by the nerfs. It’s still good, but not as good as it was.
The Shattergun, while virtually on par with the Trenchgun, will sit as a B-tier gun. While the gun is great once you get it, you have to take into account how much you’re going to spend on it with both money and time. Getting the Shattergun is a rewarding feeling, but when the Trenchgun is sitting right there, you start to feel like you wasted your time.
