As with any other JRPG, Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes has its own fair share of epic boss fights with the occasional gimmicks that will keep you on your toes. At some point in the story, you will come face to face with Astraea the Judge and Slaosha the Enforcer, and in this guide, we’ll try to give you some tips on how you can tackle these two powerhouses!
How to Beat the Boss in the Proving Grounds
There are actually many ways you can approach the fight with Astraea the Judge and Slaosha the Enforcer, and it will mainly depend on your team setup. Mainly, though, all you need to do is focus on Astraea specifically.
Although it may seem intimidating to face two bosses at such an early stage of the game, there aren’t really any special gimmicks to watch out for. You just need to have enough sustain to keep your party healthy throughout the fight.
There is almost no good reason for you to go after Slaosha the Enforcer, unless you are really struggling with his attacks. The thing is, he automatically dies as soon as Astraea is out of the fight, so it is in your best interest to only go after her.
Again, just make sure that you have ways to consistently heal your team while also trying your best to keep the healers alive. If you have ways to taunt enemies, try to get Slaosha’s attention with it to prevent him from potentially one shotting your backline heroes.
Things to Watch Out For
While there are no special mechanics in this fight, there are some moves that you should be wary of. One such attack is Astraea’s Light of Judgement, which will hit everyone in a single row. Make sure that your healers are topped up at all times!
Slaosha will also occasionally heal Astraea, so don’t be surprised if the fight drags on for a little too long. Just make sure to keep focusing on her while also keeping everyone at a moderately high HP.
At some point in the fight, Astraea will cast Grace of Worship. This will change the lights on both bosses from blue to purple, and the archers in the background will suddenly activate.
When this happens, be ready for her to cast Smite of Punishment, which will have the archers fire a barrage at all of your party members. This deals a lot of damage, so consider defending and/or healing this turn, and be ready for more instances of this.
If you have a particularly squishy or underleveled team, especially when it comes to your healers, then you can disregard our original strategy and consider taking out Slaosha first.
He can deal a lot of single target damage, and in some cases, he can kill somebody with one hit. For example, in the image below, this player’s Francesca only had a maximum HP of 82 and she was hit for 87 in a single slash by Slaosha.
If you deal with Slaosha first, you will still need to watch out for Astraea’s multiple target attacks. However, you will have gotten rid of the threat of massive single target hits randomly taking somebody out.
Some Recommended Party Members to Bring
Feel free to use any team setup that you are most comfortable with at this point of the game. One character that you should absolutely have with you though is Francesca, because you will need some consistent heals throughout this encounter. Zabi can help too.
In case you need some recommendations, you can take Lian with you to occasionally pop a Senior & Junior combo alongside Nowa for some extra damage. Kogen and Mellore can be decent back row damage dealers if you recruited them earlier too.
Marisa can also be pretty useful in this fight because of her ability to use Healing Wind and Wind God’s Breath, and you likely won’t have to worry about anyone going down at all if you pair her with Francesca or Zabi (or both, cause why not).
Upon defeating the boss, you will receive a Rune of Light and a Cute Ribbon, which is an accessory that might come in handy if you have a squishy party member that needs a lot of babysitting to stay alive.
And that is pretty much everything you need to know in order to tackle this pair of bosses with relative ease.
