Playing with fire can be fun, and in Genshin Impact it can even be rewarding. In the Broken Isle there is a fire totem puzzle deep inside one of the mountains. Usually making fires in enclosed spaces is bad due to carbon monoxide poisoning, good thing you don’t have to worry about that in-game!
How to Open Broken Isle Locked Gate Fire Totem In Genshin Impact
First off, you’ll need to change the mountain style of the island to a short mountain style. You can do that to the north of the island between the pillars off the beach.
You’ll know it’s short when the mountain to the right looks like this:
Now you have to go there and go inside the cave, that’s where the fire totem is. Of course, since this is a fire totem you’ll need a fire element character, like Amber. So don’t forget to bring your favorite fire element character here.
Once you’ve entered you should see a locked fire totem slightly submerged in water. Around them are stone torches that you need to hit with a fire attack to unlock the totem. If you can’t find them, refer to the image below.
Once you’ve hit all of them with fire attacks including the totem, the water level in the cave should lower, showing the rest of the area. When the water finally stops going down you should see another locked fire totem. One of the torches you need to hit is on the side of the water.
Another one is next to the totem.
And if you follow the corridor behind the totem there should also be another one just beside the wooden path.
At the end of the corridor is a door, open it and the last one will be in front of it. Remember to activate the lever to open the gate next to it, we’ll need that gate open later.
Now just go back and hit that locked totem to remove all the water in the cave and show the next part of the puzzle. A magic note statue and a bunch of tuba-like instruments around a circle. There’s also an imaging conch there so might as well take that! Delving deeper you should see three chests magically sealed with a note symbol on them.
You need to rearrange the tubas so that the magical note from the note statue goes towards the seal. There is also a sealed chest in the middle of the circle and you need to hit it with the note as well to let the notes pass and continue to the gate. Here is how the note should go:
As you can see from my superb MS paint skill it should go straight to the giant magical seal. Although there’s one problem, it’s blocked by a giant root.
The way to fix this is to go back to the pillars from the start and now turn the mountain into a tall one.
Once you get back to inside the mountain you should see a familiar scene. The magical door and the torch you’ve lit up before.
Go inside the magical door, down back into the musical note chamber and now the giant root isn’t there. Fire the note into the seal and you’ve got yourself 3 chests from the Broken Isle, congratulations!
