Trepidation: Complete Beginner’s Guide (Roblox)

Don’t bring your Dead By Daylight knowledge to this one.Don’t bring your Dead By Daylight knowledge to this one.

Trepidation is a fun, asymmetrical team based horror Roblox game where the goal is to repair generators and escape. So essentially, Dead By Daylight. But just because it’s based on Dead By Daylight doesn’t mean that everything is a 1:1 copy of the game. There are some things that are different and unique only to Trepidation. That’s why in this beginner’s guide, I will be showing you everything you need to know about Trepidation. That way, when you start playing the game, you won’t be making rookie mistakes that get you or your team killed.

Complete Beginner’s Guide

There are a lot of things to remember while playing Trepidation, but let’s start with the most basic gameplay elements of the game that you will be using the most.

Main Objectives For Survivors & The Killer

The main objective of all survivors in every match is to repair 10 generators to escape the location and the killer. For the player taking control of the killer, you will be let on the loose to hunt down every survivor in the game and kill them to win. As survivors, you will have to work together to repair all 10 generators to get them working to escape alive.

This is similar to Dead By Daylight. When doing repairs, you will have to do skill checks. These are essentially pressing the Space button when the moving line lands on the white areas. Pressing them too early or too late will result in the generator making a loud noise that will attract the killer. When that happens, it’s best to run and hide.

Stamina

While sprinting, your stamina gets depleted. This is par for the course, of course. But while sprinting, you are able to go much faster than the standard running speed. This lasts for about 6 seconds until your stamina is depleted. Once it depletes, you will be running at a slightly slower but still faster speed compared to the normal running.

To regain your stamina, all you have to do is just stop sprinting and run. There will be a slight pause at the start before your stamina starts regenerating. However, I do not recommend running when being chased by the killer as a survivor. Your running speed is slower than your depleted stamina sprint and you will easily get caught by the killer.

Crafting & Items

One thing that Trepidation has that Dead By Daylight is crafting. Unlike Dead By Daylight, Trepidation allows you to craft items to use in the game. You can get a Flashbang, Lockpick, Medkit, Landlmine, or Ammo. But you will need to gather materials in the game before you can craft anything. Even then, you can only grab 8 items per materials.

When you have enough to craft an item, it’s recommended to just craft an item so you can have space for when you encounter more materials.

Weapons

Another thing that will surprise you when playing Trepidation is that the survivors have weapons. These weapons work on both the main killer and the weaker enemies. You will have 4 weapons to use in the game:

  • Knife
  • Pistol
  • Shotgun
  • Rifle

You start off with the Knife, which doesn’t do a lot of damage but it can kill the weaker enemies easier. Each weapon deals varying damage, with Rifle doing the best damage with headshots. These weapons are not crafted and can only be found while exploring the area.
