Anime Defenders is another new entry in a long line of anime-inspired tower defense games on Roblox, and it is quickly rising in popularity. Because of this, people are flocking towards it trying to see what all the hype is about. If you are one of these newcomers, read on to learn some of the basics that will help get you started as fast as possible!
Complete Beginner’s Guide
First of all, there are level restrictions for various features in the game, and this includes redeeming codes. As such, the first thing we’ll be doing at the start of the game is simply heading over to story mode and playing immediately.
Either teleport there using the menus on the top left corner of the screen or simply run over to the building with the “PLAY” sign on it. From there, just hop on in and start a game!
NOTE: While in the hub area, walking on top of the glowing arrows on the ground will make you run faster. Use these to quickly navigate to other buildings if you don’t feel like using the teleport feature.
The first few story missions are extremely easy, and the free tower you get at the start of the game should be more than enough to ensure success. Just get through these to rank up until you reach around level 8.
Make sure to click on the Skip Wave option whenever it shows up. By doing this, you will speed up the match significantly, which can be especially useful here since the early missions can be quite a boring slog.
First time completion will grant you bonus gems, which are used in the summoning area right in front of the play zone. Use your gems to summon more stuff and increase your pity.
Legendary pity comes at 50 pulls. Mythical pity, on the other hand, will be at a whopping 400 pulls, so if you’re going after a specific unit that’s featured, time your pity to whenever they are in the store.
I personally recommend trying your luck immediately so you can potentially replace your starter unit. I did this and got one of the newer epics (The Beast), and it is a huge upgrade over the free starting tower.

Redeeming Codes – Level 8 Requirement
Once you have reached level 8 on your account (not your units), you can now redeem codes by clicking on the option for it on the upper left corner of the screen. The grind leading to this level will take a bit of time, but once you reach it, you can use the following codes:
- 200kholymoly – 1000 gems
- Adontop – 250 gems
- Subcool – 50 gems
- Sub2toaboigaming – 50 gems
- Sub2mozking – 50 gems
- Sub2karizmaqt – 50 gems
- Sub2jonaslyz – 50 gems
- Sub2riktime – 50 gems
- Sub2nagblox – 50 gems
By using all of these, you will have enough to pull for around 30 or more units. This will help you hit that first legendary pity counter and hopefully get yourself a decent unit to help ease your grinding adventure.
From here, just continue finishing the story and playing some infinite mode to farm for resources. Finishing the base story levels will take a lot of time, so don’t rush into it thinking you’ll be done immediately.
Other Mechanics to Keep in Mind
As a beginner, there isn’t much you can really work on outside of simply going through the story mode and finishing all of the levels. This will give you access to all of the challenges in a separate building.
These challenges will provide you with various resources needed for all of the other mechanics that you can utilize in order to strengthen your units. You can do a few of these every hour, and it is recommended to do so whenever you can.
Stat and Trait Rerolls
You can reroll a unit’s traits with the use of a trait crystal, which can mainly be earned through challenges or bought with Robux. There aren’t a lot of these at the moment, but almost all of them provide significant buffs that will make your tower much stronger.
Because of how hard crystals can be to farm, it is recommended to only do trait rerolls on legendary units and above. If you are swimming in these items, then knock yourself out and use them on epics too.
In the same building as the summoning chamber and trait rerolls, you will also find the Rank Reroll machine. This is something that is mainly for minmaxers who are in the later stages of their career.
Basically, it will let you reroll the damage, attack speed, and range stats of a specific unit at the cost of a resource known as Risky Dice.
There is also a stat known as “Worthiness” that determines how likely it is for your unit to get good stats on reroll. This can be increased slowly through unit kills, which is why this is not an ideal feature for new players.
Finally, there are crafting and evolution systems that work alongside one another. This is not really something you need to worry about for a while, as it involves high level resources and exceedingly rare units.
There is a trading system as well, but this is locked until you reach level 10. This is presumably done to prevent certain exploits involving alt accounts, so keep that in mind if you plan on resetting for better starting rolls.
And that is pretty much everything you need to know as a beginner in this new tower defense game. If you have gotten to the point where you can trade, check out our tier and value list for trading in Anime Defenders to get a better idea of how it works and what is worth exchanging with others.
