Live A Live: Which Disciple To Pick

Live A Live brings many tropes from games at that time. After all, it is a game that was made in 1944. Its quests and systems borrow a lot from other games in that era. Things like quests that you can easily skip without knowing and strange convoluted logic akin to the old point-and-click adventure games. There’s also a time in the game where you get to pick between 3 choices, which gave me a flashback to when I played Pokémon Red. In this Which Disciple To Pick guide, we’ll show you the difference between the 3 disciples in the game and which best suits you!

Which Disciple To Pick In Live A Live

At one point in the game, you get a choice to select a disciple. You can actually choose to train all three. However, it’s highly suggested that you focus on one for the story later down the story line. There are three disciples to choose from, there’s Lei Kugo, Yun Jou and Hong Hakka.

First is Lei Kugo, the only female disciple in the bunch.

Her main stat is speed, the fastest of the three. She focuses on quick strikes and backing out without a problem, ready to attack again. The fly like a butterfly and sting like a beetle applies to this character well. If you want a fairly balanced character pick this one.

Next is Yun Jou, this character is an interesting one. At the start he’s the weakest of the three, but as time goes by and you train him more, he gets even more powerful than the rest. That’s because Yun Jou has a higher-than-average growth rate which makes him catch up to the others real fast and even go beyond them. Just be careful at the early levels and Yun Jou can be really strong.

Lastly is Hong Hokka, if I learned anything from martial arts films is that the fat character is either the funny man, the strongest fighter, or both. So don’t discount him because of his looks, he’s actually the tank of the three disciples. He has the highest HP stat out of the three and can take a beating, he may not hit hard but hitting him is akin to punching a wall, I highly suggest not doing it from personal experience. If you want a tank character pick him.

And that’s all the 3 disciples in the game, now go out there and pick the best character for you!
