The Clash Lane is one of the hardest roles to learn how to play in Honor of Kings, thanks to the tough enemies and its rough position on the map. You can find the Clash Lane on the top left corner of the map. It’s one of the most advantageous spots in the early game, as it grants more Experience than other lanes. But it’s also dangerous, and specialized Clash Lane players will need to be extremely versatile to help their team.
In this guide, we’ll explain what to expect when you’re on dedicated Clash Lane duty in Honor of Kings. We’ll go over everything you need on how to play the role and the overall macro strategy required.
How To Macro Clash Lane | Honor of Kings Guide
The Clash Lane is a pretty dangerous lane to play, which is one of the first things you need to be aware of to learn how to macro. There’s a high potential for ganks due to the amount of bushes that provide cover and the general openness of the lane. As such, this lane is mostly reserved for Fighter and Tank heroes.
At the same time, this openness also gives you a lot of flexibility on what to do. You can either be aggressive by rushing enemies and their towers or be more defensive by setting up ambushes for enemies in the lane. You’ll need to have a lot of match awareness so that you can aptly switch between both as necessary.
Additionally, you’ll also need to decide whether you want to be a duelist or a team fighter. As a duelist, you would focus on going solo and taking out solo enemy players and minions. As a team fighter, you would instead focus on assisting allies who are fighting enemy players and minions. Just like before, you’ll most likely need to switch between both as a match goes on.
That said, your overall playstyle mostly depends on what hero you’re playing as!
Wave management is also a crucial part of your macro strategy in the Clash Lane role in Honor of Kings. You want to try clearing the minion waves fast so that you have an opening to attack mob camps. This will deprive enemy jungles of precious resources, while also giving you a boost in Experience and Gold.
Be Versatile and Mobile
As a Clash Lane player, you will be moving around quite a lot. You’ll need to be versatile and switch up your role as required by the match’s status, as we’ve mentioned previously. Thankfully, you can make use of the Primal Portal in the corner of the Clash Lane to teleport. You can instantly warp to any tower or allied minion, letting you help out your team as needed!
We recommend that you try focusing on the mid tower. It’s the most important tower due to being on the shortest path between bases. Work alongside your allied mid-laners and jungles to be able to dominate the mid tower!
It’s also a good idea to assist your team on the top tower as necessary. If you find that enemies are overstaying their welcome there, try to ambush them to pressure them off the area. You should also push the Top Lane before you go for the objective. Make sure to keep this in mind for your macro strategy if you play Clash Lane in Honor of Kings.
As the match progresses, you will need to manage pressure to keep pushing your enemies back away from your base. Don’t let them push your team back, and make sure to keep them away from your base as much as possible. At the same time, try to avoid taking unnecessary risks!
Ultimately, you’ll need to be extremely versatile and try to be everywhere at once to help your team. The macro strategy for the Clash Lane can be pretty tough to grasp in Honor of Kings, but we hope we’ve helped give you an idea of how to play this role efficiently!
