Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree is a challenge, no doubt about it, but equipping the best Talismans possible can swing things more in your favor.
Having the right set of Talismans is just as important as upgrading your weapon and even picking out a nice suit of armor. Yet, Talismans can be a bit hard to pick out, with some of them appearing bland or weak… which leads to players ignoring them somewhat.
Thankfully, you’ve got us to help you avoid falling into those traps! Read on and we’ll give you our list of recommended Talismans for this challenging game.
Best Talismans Guide | Elden Ring: Shadow of The Erdtree
Base Game Talismans
Before we dive into the best new Talismans you can pick up in the new Realm of Shadow, we have a couple from the base game. These two Talismans are must-haves for dealing with the stronger enemies you’ll face through the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC:
Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman – This Talisman is one of the best defensive picks you can have in the Elden Ring base game and its Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. It decreases all physical damage you take by 20%, which is a huge buff. It’s one of the best Talismans to have on you at all times!
You can find this Talisman starting from the “Drainage Channel” Grace in Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree. Follow the path forward using the beams and branches until you reach the roof of a church. Drop onto the beams inside the building and you’ll find a chest with the Talisman on the top floor of the church.
Pearldrake Talisman +2 – The elemental equivalent of the Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman. Put it on and you’ll take 9% less damage from all Elemental sources. That means Fire, Lightning, Magic, and Holy. It’s a solid buff and very versatile, so there’s no reason not to have this on!
You can find this Talisman in Miquella’s Haligtree. Start from the “Haligtree Town” Grace and climb the huge ladder directly to the northwest, then follow the only path forward to find the Talisman on a corpse.
Both of these provide massive buffs to defense, which is vital for any build when dealing with the strong foes in the Realm of Shadow! Do note their effects are lower in PvP, though.
Now, let’s look at Talismans from the DLC itself.
Side Note: we recommend that you get all DLC Map Fragments to make finding Talismans easier!

General Use
These new Talismans in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree are the ones that we consider simply the best for basically every build:
Blessed Blue Dew Talisman – People have been asking for passive FP regen since Dark Souls III came out, and it’s finally here. Equip it and you’ll regenerate 1 FP every 2 seconds. It’s slow, but it adds up for longer trips and fights!
To get this Talisman, you just need to pick it up from the Church of Benediction. It’s in the topmost part of the southwestern corner of the Gravesite Plain region. There are many ways to get there, but the easiest is to go south from Belurat’s “Main Gate Cross” Grace.
Pearldrake Talisman +3 – We already told you why the Pearldrake Talisman is awesome, and this is just an upgraded version of it. You’ll take 11% less damage from all Elemental sources. It’s a minor increase from the +2 variant’s 9%, but it’s still an upgrade!
You can find this on the second floor of the Specimen Storage section of the Shadow Keep dungeon. You’ll need to reach the sixth floor and activate the lever that moves statues, then backtrack to the new path opened by the statues.
Two-Headed Turtle Talisman – Upgraded version of the Green Turtle Talisman from the base game. Gives you a great boost to Stamina Regeneration.
You can easily find this Talisman by starting from the “Ellac River Cave” Grace in the Gravesite Plain. Just follow the river upstream by going north and you’ll find a tiny cave behind a waterfall. The Talisman is on the corpse inside the cave.
Thanks to their versatile effects, we wouldn’t be surprised to see most players using at least one of these. They’ve earned their slots on our list!
More Niche and Build-Specific Talismans
Now, to close off our list, we should go over a few of the new Talismans in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree that we think are particularly notable for more specific builds.
Beloved Stardust – Massively speeds up your casting speed for Sorceries and Incantations, at the cost of reducing your defenses somewhat. Don’t be scared by it; the defense reduction isn’t too bad. Just make sure you have decent defense from other Talismans, Armor, and Scadutree Blessings!
Unlike other Talismans on this list, this one is part of a quest. Find Count Ymir at the Cathedral of Manus Ymir in Scadu Altus. Speak to him after you complete the first step of his quest and he’ll gift it to you.
Outer God Heirloom – Increases your Arcane stat by 5. Great if you’ve ever needed a quick boost to your Arcane stat, for things like extra Item Discovery or to meet the requirements for certain Spells. It’s worth noting mostly because Arcane was one of the only stats without a Talisman in the base game!
You can pick it up from a chest in Prospect Town. It’s in the westernmost part of the Gravesite Plain region and we recommend going south from Belurat’s “Main Gate Cross” Grace to reach it.
Smithing Talisman – Boosts the damage of all thrown weapons, including Smithscript weapons and even spears with the Spectral Lance skill. If you’re rocking the new throwing weapons, this is a must-have for you!
This Talisman is on a corpse surrounded by firey slimes in the uppermost part of the Ruined Forge of Starfall Past dungeon. You can easily reach the dungeon by going south of the “Moorth Ruins” Grace in the Scadu Altus region.
Ultimately, these aren’t great for everyone but they can just be the extra boost certain builds need!
