Learning a new character in a game can be fun but sometimes you’ll want to learn more about their strengths and weaknesses. Some players don’t want to jump completely blind since they might miss something about that character.
In Honor of Kings, there are a lot of different characters that you can choose from since it’s a MOBA game. All of these characters have their skills and play styles along with different strengths and weaknesses.
In this guide, we’ll show you how to effectively use the Assassin character Lam in the game. We’ll go through the different skills he has and what kind of tactics you should use with him. Now, let’s see what this character has to offer!
Complete Lam Guide
There are a lot of different characters to choose from in Honor of Kings and Lam is one of the assassin archetypes. His moves are well suited for cutting down enemies, especially if they’re at low health. You can even make sure to catch up with fleeing enemies with one of his passive abilities!
With the right knowledge in his skills as well as the right build, Lam can be one of the most satisfying characters to play as!

Passive Skill – Hunter
To effectively use Lam, you’ll first need to understand his passive Ability. The Hunter Passive skill makes it so basic attacks deal extra True Damage to targets with low health. Low health means that the enemy’s HP is below 30%.
You can tell if an enemy is below that number if they’re glowing red as shown below. You’ll deal more damage against them making it easier to finish them off.
First Skill – Wave Breaker
For the first skill with this character, you have Wave Breaker. When used, the character will dive down to the ground dealing damage where he lands. Your movement speed is buffed when ‘underwater’ and has some other added benefits.
When you’re underwater, you have 3 seconds before Lam jumps out and the skill ends. When you use this ability in the river areas of the map, you have an unlimited amount of time as long as you stay there.
When you use the skill again while underwater, your character jumps up and strikes at the position you choose. This is great for attacking fleeing enemies since while underwater your speed is increased.
NOTE: You can use the jump from the ability to jump through certain map walls. Use this to your advantage when running away or when following enemies.
While you’re submerged and an enemy is marked with your Passive skill by being under 30% HP, your movement speed buff is increased some more. At this stage, not a lot of characters can outrun you, so you so use this to finish them off!
Second Skill – Space Split
The second ability is another damaged one but this time, it’s AOE. When you activate the Space Split ability, Lam will spin around with his blades damaging anyone in a small circle around him. This is great when attacking multiple enemies but also for singular ones with the added mechanic.
If you hit an enemy with this ability, you’ll see shark teeth icons below the HP and Mana Bar. The more enemies you hit, the more charges you get to a maximum of 3.
When you have these icons, you can use your Auto-attack to teleport behind an enemy and attack them. You’ll also heal a small amount of your HP when you hit an enemy with this mechanic. You can repeat this as many times as you can as long as you have charges of this ability.
When you use this ability while underwater, you push enemies back, and it also reduces the cooldown by 50%.
Third Ability – Death From Below
The third ability in for this character is a Crowd Control one. If you activate Death From Below, you’ll throw a dagger that can stun enemies. After that, you’ll summon a shark and move towards them pushing and carrying them with you.
This is a great skill to use if you want to push a player or two to another one, so that you can hit them all with your AOE skill.
If you use this ability while underwater, you won’t throw a dagger but instead immediately do the push attack. It also reduces the cooldown of the ability by 50%.
Item and Arcana Build
Now that you know how to use the abilities, let’s go through the right build. Lam is an Assassin, so you might think that stacking damage is the key. That could work but on their own Lam’s attacks are already heavy-hitting.
The build below instead focuses on two things, increasing the tanking ability of Lam and reducing the cooldown of abilities. The reason for this is that you can easily take on multiple opponents with this build and that added survivability will make sure you can.
The items you’ll need to build towards through the game for Lam are the following:
- Giant’s Grip
- Boots of Resistance
- Pure Sky
- Blazing Cape
- Eye of the Phoenix
- Glacial Buckler
These items will make sure that your cooldowns are lowered and your survivability is higher. Pure Sky not only lowers the cooldown but also reduces the damage of enemies. Eye of the Phoneix is the most important item since it’ll give you a lot of Max HP as well as Magical Defense.
Even with the right build, you’ll also need the right Arcana to maximize your abilities. Here are the Arcanas that we’ll be using for Lam:
- 10 x Harmony
- 10 x Vacuity
- 10 x Fate
All of these Arcanas will increase your health even more making sure that you can tank the damage while dishing out some of your own.
With all of that knowledge, you’re ready to use Lam in Honor of Kings. Now, go out there and try this character out! Do you want to try out another hero in the game? Check out our Complete Heino Guide for more details!
